Rabbit Treats
Ever the optomist I tried to introduce Snowflake and Raindrop to banana. Raindrop point blank refused to even look at it, Snowflake took a little nibble then backed away. Maybe dried banana flakes would work. Which got me to thinking, what does everyone else give their buns as a treat?

Re: Rabbit Treats
This site does some great healthy treats www.thehayexperts.co.uk. So to, do www.pamperedpiggies.co.uk.
I give mine greens, carrots, apples, banana, pineapple juice (incidently great for their gut), green beans, raisens... anything like that really. My two outdoor buns won't touch banana, they look at me like I am trying to poison them. No pleasing some people.

Re: Rabbit Treats
Mine don't do banana either, or apple.
They are all addicted to the Oxbow papaya tablets that Thehayexperts sell, and also the pineapple/papaya chunks. They all also adore the flaked peas and maize from Pamperedpiggies but fave of all is Burn's dried plantain. They have a little of this everynight within their supper, which has to be their fave meal of the day

Re: Rabbit Treats
Seem to be fine. Gave them loads of branches last year and they spent ages gnawing on them.

Re: Rabbit Treats
Berts won't eat any fruit, I give him herbs as treats cos he loves them, Coriander, parsley & mint are his faves. I used to give bought treats sometimes, but I don't any more. His Bromelain tab is a treat twice a week after grooming

Re: Rabbit Treats
Mine love banana, apple, applewood, raisins, oats every now and then, grapes, pear... all sorts really! They dont like parsnip. Which I find strange but there you go.
I read in a bunny book (I think) that if you have a rabbit who has lost its appetite give them chives, its a rabbit appetite stimulant! I know they cant have onions but mine occasionally have chives and love them.
I bought a huge rabbit mixed seed thingy off ebay, to grow your own rabbit loveliness. I am a little disappointed though, we sowed 2 trays of them about 2 months ago and they are pretty pathetic. And it isnt us, we grow loads of stuff and this is essentially just weeds and grass. Very strange!

Mine don't like parsnip either. I thought they would love it as it is sweet.

Re: Rabbit Treats
Rory will eat just about anything. All mine love banana but Rory also likes cherry tomatoes. They all like carrot, spring greens and sprouts but only if I give them one sprout leaf at a time, they wont touch them otherwise.
