Re: Forum Members Rabbits
First came Dumpling and Treacle, dwarf lop sisters from P@H. I was told they were 12 weeks but who knows!
Dumpling loves to eat!
She likes having hugs and will gently chomp her teeth when I give her kisses.
She lets you know when she has had enough by nipping your clothes and nudges you for more if you aren't paying her enough attention!
Treacle gives lots of licks to me and will try and pull my glasses off if I'm not careful
She is also my escape artist bunny, show her a fence/gate and she will try until she manages it. She jumped out of their run which is waist height on me and I'm 5ft6" last weekend as I hadn't shut the lid!
She is cheeky and stubborn and likes to keep me on my toes!
They will be 2 years in January and its gone so quick!
Dumpling.
Treacle.
Together.
Next came Dusty my blue eyed lionhead boy.
I saw him advertised on gumtree and wanted him (was called Bluie then), I knew I had enough time and money but parents (was living with them) said no.
Then they went on holiday.........so I fetched him
They went bonkers and didn't speak to me for ages but he was worth it!
He had been living in a very small hutch which I bought with me and destroyed.
He was scared of people and it took me quite a while to show him people aren't all bad, he is still a little skittish now.
Then I worked on my mum persuading her that it was mean to keep him on his own as she could see how loved up the girls were, eventually they said yes to me getting a girl to bond with Dusty once spayed.
So along came Meggie (then called Nutmeg) from the same lady I had had Dusty from, once again from Gumtree.
She was wild! If I thought Dusty had been bad I needed to think again!
She went bonkers if you picked her up, touched her, anything! She would fling herself from side to side to escape.
So I just sat in the kitchen with her, took 3 evenings before she would even move while I was there.
She calmed a lot then was spayed and bonded with Dusty, my first bond!
Shaking
When I moved out of my parents I bonded the four, they had been together for a month when there was a big fight one day and I came home to Meggie having 3 holes in her, all were over an inch wide so off to the emergency vets and she had to have an op.
After her op she stayed inside for 2 months where she actually started to like me!
Now she is still as friendly as when she was inside but is back with Dusty her husbun. :luv:
Phew!

Joey was rescued whilst in his mummys tummy by the rspca, he is now just over a year old and is incrediably soppy and cuddly! He loves nose rubs and tummy tickled
Saffy
Joey's wife, i rescued her privately, shes nearly a year old and full of attitude !! In a nice way she doesnt do anything nasty
Dreamer
He's an absolute sweety that i got from Jill at honeybunnies rescue, he had abit of an adventure going on a bunnyrun to get to me, i drove all the way to essex to get him. He's so energetic and great to watch, he loves his toys and eating as much as possible although he's really dinky!
Tinkerbell
Dreamers wife, it was love at first site, easiest bond ever!! I rescued her from a breeder as she was refusing to take to the buck after having 2 litters, she done really well has been neutered and vacc' and is the sweetest little girl, she gives lots of kisses and loves fuss.

Re: Forum Members Rabbits
I got my first bunny, BUNGEE, in July 2004, aged 8 months. I was hanging around in a garden centre, I'd always liked talking to bunnies in pet shops but never seriously considered owning one, until this day - She just came straight up to me and looked me straight in the face ... I'd never felt such intensity from a stare before, it was quite overwhelming. I've often thought "how cute" but never before had the feeling I got that day. So I went and bought a book, read it and 3 days later went back to buy her. She had only been with me about 10 weeks when she needed her first dental, she needed them every 12 weeks after that so thank god she picked me and not somebody who left her at the end of the garden in a box and didn't realise her needs.
I found her dead on 10 February this year, only 2 hours after she had been begging at me. I don't have any really good photos of her because I didn't own a camera during her earlier days.
This picture is from her first few weeks with me:
This is when she had become a housebunny (which happened around the time of her first dental), note the intense stare!! :
My second bunny was my very precious SCRABBLE, also known as Scratty, Scrappy. I got her from another garden centre (sorry!) aged eight weeks. Scrabble was my little lap dog, everything you could wish for in a companion animal, a very special cuddly, licky little bunny, she was my whole world and I lost her on 17 April this year, aged only 3 years, 9 months.
I then got ARTIE who was eleven weeks old (pet shop again). He's absolute sweety, he's my other licky bunny. He's just had his fourth gotcha day.
After losing Bungee, I was in the local pet shop when they told me they'd had an unplanned litter brought in and they had a bit of a dilemma as to whether to take them or not because they didn't like selling rabbits before Easter and felt they were too young/small to go out for a quite while, but they took them as they didn't know what would happen to them if they didn't. They would however be happy to sell them as house rabbits... they mentioned it in passing as they knew I'd lost Bungee a few weeks earlier. Well, I had to go and see them and .... I reserved ESME ... they kept her with her siblings for another week as felt they were *possibly* young than the 8 weeks they had been told.
Esme with her litter mates at 8 weeks old.
A chilled little bunster:
I had a bit of a scare with Esme at 6 months old as she stopped breathing during a GA so couldn't be spayed at that time, but at 9 months she was successfully spayed and hopefully will be bonded with Artie soon.
Next - RUDY I found Rudy at Bunny Camp Sanctuary 8 weeks after losing Scrat and he had previously been a house rabbit and was 12 months old, I think he had previously had a good life but his owner had to give him up because her landlord wouldn't allow pets. He was such a nervous little bun, but gradually came round. To be honest I think I was finding it a bit hard to "give myself" to a new bunny at that time as my mind wasn't in the right place and I thought I'd made a terrible mistake taking him on as I still very much grieving. We did bond after a few weeks though!
I had set my limit at 3 bunnies and although I'd reserved Rudy, on the rehome website where I found him, I kept seeing a picture of a gorgeous little bunny in the West Midlands (too far to go) and then I kept hearing little bits of her life story and I just completely fell for her ... maybe she could be a companion for Rudy ?.. her name was TINKERBELL and LilleJente was her foster mother. Tinks was taken by RSPCA from a place where she lived with her 2 siblings and her parents in a 4ft hutch full of filth, she was approx 12 - 14 weeks old at that time. Her brother Elliot has deformed back legs as a result and they all had urine stained legs for a while after being taken from there. Although only a babe herself at that time she and her sister Tilly went on to have babes of their own (Kirsty's 'Ivy' is Tilly's son) - Tinks was a mother at approximately 18 weeks old This however was when I properly fell for her as she was a really good mother and I just weakened at the thought of her. She was extremely fiesty and quite boxy and grunty but who could blame her?
(photo taken by Kirsty shows Tinks with her daughter Fidget), she also has a son Sooty who has yet to find his forever home )
Her story so far is she is now happy bonded to Rudy and I think she's reached a stage where she doesn't mind being stroked

This is my bunny Domino. A 20 month old pure breed english bun. We got her from a breeder at 8 weeks old. She is the baby in my life, she is spoilt rotton!! I would like her to have a friend, but at the moment i just dont have the space. I'd happily sacrafice the furniture so i could have more, but i dont think the landlord or my other half would appreciate that!! She is mainly a house rabbit, but i like to get her outside during the day - especially during the summer.
She is very afffectionate, and loves being cuddled, shes a monster at times too!! An opportunist - she sees a small gap in a door and makes a run for it!!
:luv:
When we first got her..
having a cuddle with mummy..
chilling out with her big sister millie...

Daisy really is stunning. I love the picture of her and the dog chilling out together, my old girlie Pippa used to be like that with our dog, Poppy.
Re: Forum Members Rabbits
My gosh, she's a beauty :luv: I really like the English Breed, and Daisy is the most stunning I've seen, lovely pics too
Re: Forum Members Rabbits
I cant beliiieve i have never posted on this sticky! outrage!
So here goes..
The first rabbit that came into my life was Jelly, on the 18th of september 2006. She was scrappy, nippy, naughty but licky. And in a pet shop. I had fussed over what bunny to get for ages. And then i saw Jelly. to this day i am not sure why i chose her, i was going based on looks (i didnt know anything back then1) and technically, jelly is plain looking. But i fell in love with her. She is now a friendly playful girl with attitude and i love her very much.
my gorgeous girl
The second, was Peanut Butter. The day after i had Jelly, i went to Pets at home to buy her some toys and a run. I saw peanut being bitten and chased and i couldnt bear it. I bought him then and there. He was such a timid placid boy, and when i first bonded him with jelly she walked all over him. Now nearly three, he is the boss and is quite a little diva!
"I AM king!"
The third, is Domino. The majority of people know that i bred peanut and jelly, just the once before i knew anything about rescues. I cannt regret it as th ebuns found lovely homes and i kept domino.and while i do NOT condone breeding at all, ever. I cannot and will not ever regret my actions and i would not have my soppy boy. Nor would i have sought out pebbles to be his lady wife. He is a sippy boy who loves cuddles.
fluffy fluffy bum fluff!
The fourth., is Pebbles. Shy,innocent, and sweet. I cannot think of a single thing pebbles has done thats naughty since she arrived. she is angelic. I love her very much, and she was badly treated and is extremly timid, but when shes with domino she binkies so madly :luv:
this is pebbles the day i got her, diving into the herbs!
hope u all enjoyed despite knowing them anyway

Re: Forum Members Rabbits
I have never noticed this thread! Well, best get started!
Well, I rushed into bunny ownership, to be honest I didn't have a clue! It wasn't the best way to do things..
A friend of mine had decided to breed his bunnies. My Mam decided she wanted one for my neice.. So I said I wanted one, too (She never let me keep a pet when I lived at home!)
So, me and my Mam brought Vivi and Daisy home! At the time, I thought Vivi was a girl.. He lived with Daisy for quite a while..
Vivi
Vivi was such a tiny thing when I first brought him home! He loved being picked up and cuddled, and he always nudged me for extra attention. He was always happy just to sit on my knee when I was working on the compter or such. Even now he's still just as affectionate, straight at the bars for a cuddle, and always tries to lick me..
Freya
Okay, eventually I moved away from home and I had to leave Daisy behind, so I went to get VIvi a girlfriend. I got Freya from a pet shop (Which I regret now, sort of!). I chose her because she had one ear up and one lop! Though she didn't stay like that for long! She's not very affectionate, really, she seems to show me no interest whatsoever, and would rather get on with her own thing! Mostly I just call her Frey-Frey..
Beatrix
My friend that I got Vivi from mentioned to me he'd bred again, so I went to have a look-see, with no intention of getting another bunny. Bea is Vivi's half-sister. However, the OH fell in love with the teeny tiny little grey bundle of fuzz, who I then broguht home, in my naivety, thinking she would go live with Freya until Vivi was neutered.. Little Bea is by far my teeniest bunny, and a really nosey little girl. She always comes to the bars of her cage, mostly to try and nibble me.. (Its my neice in the photo)
Kuja
Well, my Mam bought this guy from a pet shop, thinking he was a she. Because Freya and Bea didn't get on, Freya went to live with my Mam for a while and I took 'Lola' to come live with Bea, as they were both spot on 8 weeks old, so they didn't fight. Bea and Kuja were the most perfect couple, until I found out 'Lola' wasn't a 'Lola'! After this, I went to find out how to sex bunnies myself... Kuja is my most favourite bun, even though I shoudln't have a favourite! He honks when you feed him coz he's a greedy little ******. He's exceptionally affectionate, he always licks and nudges me, and licks anything Ive been near... And, he rubs his chin on *everything* in sight..
Once I found out Kuja was a boy, I went and stole Freya back, much against my OH will, as now we have 4! bunnies!
Cid
Cid comes from rather unfortunare circumstances, however, he is in safe hands now! I took him in from my sister, who wasn't looking after him properly at all. He's very prone to digestive problems. He is a very shy bunny, and he doesn't like being stroked or picked up. Besides this, he isn't in any way a nasty bunny, and I think slowly but surely he is gaining more confidence. Id love to see him paired up eventually. (Hopefully with Freya)
Lani
I got Lani from a pet shop kinda, it was more a pet supply store, a local business. The owner bred lop rabbits also, so Lani came from there. Again, she had one ear up and one down! And she stays this way most of the time! I got her in the intention of getting Cid a lady friend, but she is a very lively bunny, and highly dominant, so I paired her with Vivi instead, and they got on great, until she hit the near 6months mark when she got way hormonal. Theyve been split, and I hope they rebond nice and easily, when she recovers! She hates the OH, and kicks like mad when he picks her up, and runs away from him when he comes near. She loves me though, and is by far my most affectionate doe.
Sorry for the huge post - I could go on and on about the personalities of my bunnies, I love them all very much!

Oh Becki I read your story about the fire that is so sad It made me cry. If that happened in my store the firefighters wouldnt be able to stop me from going in, i'd go in and get every single one out. But thats just me thats just what I would do. I have already told my bf if we ever have a fire and i cant get any of my animals out then im not going.
