How old are your bunnies... Empty How old are your bunnies...

Post by Happy Hoppers Tue Jan 12, 2010 11:09 am

My little Fiver, who is the first rabbit I brought (yes I got him from a pet shop when I didn't know better) as an adult, is coming up 5 this spring and I am starting to get a little edgy around him now as this is the age most of my 'older rabbits' seem to pass at. That said compared to my recent mortality rates over the past 3 years he is doing very well as a lot of my rescues died at around 2-3 years of age.

I just wondered what everyone elses bunnies averaged in age at the moment....based on what they will turn in 2010. It's a mulriple choice poll so you can vote for each rabbit unless you have two of the same age.

They just deem him "adult" ... he's not a baby, but he's not an old man. I guess I'll have to live with that.

Rhia will be three round about the beginning of Feb, Woohoo!! And a guess really but i think Dylan is nearly one, She seemed baby-ish when I found her a year ago. Had such a s**t run with rabbits before these two, literally lost five babies one after another, was always battling heartbreaking illnesses, Im so so pleased that Ive had a whole year pretty much illness free Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Piper and Alfred will both be turning 3 this year Very Happy I got them about 6 months apart but I think they are roughly the same age, so they'll turn three this summer is my guess. With Sanford I think she'll be turning 1 this year but I'm honestly not sure with my lost and found bunny Hmmm

Wolfie is coming up for 4 and Gloria is coming up for 5 this year. I am not sure how old Felix is but would guess about 3 or 4. They all seem in pretty good health, but you can never tell with buns as they can go downhill so quickly.

I've voted for 3 out of the 4. Tinks and Esme are the same age within a month so I could only tick one box for the two of them - They will be two any day now *goes off to check when*.

Edit to add: It's Esme's birthday today Very Happy My girl is two today Very Happy Tinks is two in a few weeks time but not sure as her birthday had no importance to her first owners Sad

I know - I was reading your post above and thinking but Ivy can't be nearly two because ... but Ivy's mum is only about 18 - 20 weeks older than him Hmmm

I actually keep watching Fiver very closely, check he is eating everyday, poke his poor jaw and eye about and just general stare at him for prolonged periods of time looking for any problems. I think I am creeping him out! Embarassed Embarassed

Four of my six will be three this year - not sure about Gabe and Noo but Gabe at least can't be much older.

If Bobbie the cat reaches the summer she will be 20. For an old biddy she isn't doing badly at all!

That is an amazing age for a cat! My friend has a cat who will be 20 too and I thought she must be the oldest in Britain.

Such a shame about your dining room carpet. Is it in a very noticeable place?

My baby will be 1 in April, my lil spring bunny.
He acts like a grumpy teenager when I plump his bedding up, grunting and charging at me, love him Laughing
