Ideas to fight the hot weather?
It's getting hot as hell here, and I know that rabbits don't enjoy warm weather at all. Last summer I went to france with the bunnies, and it wasn't so hot there, so I didn't have to worry about them getting sick, but I'm not going anywhere this year, and I'm afraid that my buns will suffer.
Kenzo is coming home from the hospital tomorow, I suppose he'll have to stay indoors for a while, but when he is cured, I want to make sure he and Chewy don't get sick from the hot weather, spending about 1000euros at the vet for Kenzo is enought...
Does anyone have good tips to keep them from being too hot?
My bunnies spend the day outside (because indoors there is no place for them to run), and the night indoors, should I change that routine?

Last year I had those big flat cooling elements for the freezer
but twice as big.
I should leave them outside at night, they will enjoy that.

Oh I have a couple of those in the freezer, never figured out what they are for! I should put them in their cage, sound like a good idea.
I was thinking of letting them outside in the morning and evening, and maybe letting them sleep in outside, in their outdoor hutch, and just putting them indoors in the afternoon.

Re: Ideas to fight the hot weather?
We have really hot summers over here as well.
I use water bottles, milk bottles, soft drink bottles etc, fill them with water and freeze them overnight, so when the bunnies are in the heat during the day they can lie on them or next to them and it keeps them cool.
They have bowls of water - so in summer i'll use three bowls instead of their usual one so in case they knock one bowl over they still have access to water.
Shade is also a good idea - if you have no natural shade over their run, maybe you could arrange a pierce of material to sit up like an umbrella over their run?
Besides that, there's not much you can do besides bringing them inside. My rabbits live inside so I'm lucky - the air conditioning we use to keep the rest of the house cool keeps them cool.
Good luck!

There is natural shade over and in the area all around their run, and in the afternoon it's usualy even cooler there than inside the house.
That's why I'm not sure if I should bring them indoors in the afternoon or let them outside.
I'll probably use the idea of adding extra water bowls and watter bottles too.

Could you get hold of some tiles?
Over here in the UK I know several people who slate/marble/ tiles that seem to remain cool that bunny can lay out on...
With Fudge when it gets really warm here I do what NSD does and freeeze bottles and if you can position it how about a fan just to keep a breeze going....

I'm afraid they would catch a cold with a fan, because of the wind it makes
Re: Ideas to fight the hot weather?
I have pavement tiles where they live, if it's really hot, I spray them with water
