Scab on peppa's back.... Empty Scab on peppa's back....

Post by Magoo Tue Jun 15, 2010 7:24 pm

Hi everyone, I'm a bit concerned about one of the girl bunnies, peppa. She has a small scab in her back in between her shoulder blades and a bit of fur missing. I've thought of mites but I can't see anything and the other buns don't have any marks at all and all 3 have shiny coats and are healthy otherwise.

The only think I can think of is that the first night they all stayed together peppa's sister mounted her and she must have nipped her because I heard a horrible yelp. Thankfully they have been fine since but do you think that is why the scab is there?

Could be or have they had any vaccinations lately?

No they haven't had any yet. They are due soon buy are just 10 weeks old and because of how small they were when they came here I think they were younger than what I was told. She doesn't have any scabs or marks anywhere else.

Like Snowy, vaccinations was my first thought. It might just be a little injury though?

In that case it could be a small injury, maybe they got carried away when playing especially if one was mounting the other

Yeah her sister got realy carried away the first night and was mounting peppa and pippin and she must have hurt her because of the yelp which scared me so much as you can imagine! Since that night though I have seen hardly any mounting at all so the dynamics must have improved between the buns.

When I bonded George and Gemma, George had quite a few scabs - I was mortified. They are both fine now though - deeply in love, so I am pleased I persevered. I think George has forgiven Gemma for the scabs Very Happy
