Rehomed Brian - Rex

Post by Catsknickers Sun Nov 07, 2010 10:51 am

This is Brian. Sad He is a 3 year old Rex and is a very special case, he has been in care for 2 years and a half years, originally coming in as part of a trio. His two hutch mates have since passed away. Brian was to be a long term foster as his owners were posted to another country, through the forces. They have since decided that they will not be taking Brian back on their return and have asked that we re-home him. Brian has a long term health condition in the form of snuffles and has to go to a home with a bunny who already has this condition. Although this causes him no day to day problems and he is very healthy, he would be contagious to a rabbit who does not have the condition. On a daily basis Brian has a snuffly nose and occasionally this can flare up causing him to require a short course of anti biotics. However this is rare.

Brian is a loving and very inquisitive rabbit. When out in the garden he will race round and leap in the air with excitement! He also really likes his food and is a little chubby. He is myxi vaccinated, castrated and microchipped. We are desperate to find Brian a loving home that will allow him to live out the rest of his days being loved and cared for. Please get in contact if you would like to know more.

Brian - Rex Brian

I love Brian, he's the most gentle cuddle me bunny I've ever met, and If I'd known earlier, would have had him here like a shot, except that he needs more than we could give him.

I hope someone can help him, he really would be a wonderful friend to a similar bunny. Hugs Charlotte, I know how much he means to you xx

Sad Sad Sad Without question if I wasn't financially committed to 2 long term health problem animals I would have taken him. Hubby and I have been over our finances with a fine tooth comb but can't compromise our own animals health. I can't stress to you what a wonderful bun he is and if a Hopper took him it would be ideal.

Charlotte, Brian is so gorgeous, I would love to have him. Do you think he would be happy as a house bunny? He would have to be bonded with Mindy, though, would anyone be willing to try a bonding, if you think it would be ok. x

Thanks for all the kind words about Brian you guys. And please know that we didn't make this decision lightly and it was not an easy decision to make. I fought and fought for him but sadly he has to be rehomed.

I'm really sorry Embarassed

If this goes ahead, then you're welcome to use us as a temp. stay as part of a bunny run. Is Roger still coming to Southampton every week Jo?

Sorry everyone for keeping you all waiting. I have just returned from visiting my daughter in Portugal and only just logged on. I had'nt spoken to Roger about this and have sort of just broached the subject. Anyway I really do want to go ahead with this, so if anyone can do the bonding for us, I would be really grateful. Mindy is very territorial and there is nowhere in our house she has'nt been, so no neutral territory. I know she would love a mate though, as she seems very interested in our little Scamp, but he already has a wifebun.
Jay, Roger still goes to Southampton every two weeks, so we may well take you up on your kind offer. Ooooh, I am getting quite excited now. x

Jomart, Theo has given me the incredible news and I asked her to pass on the message but am too excited so have ended up dooing it myself! I could kiss you right now. Thankyou so much for this. We will put plans in motion, syncronise dates and if Jay will do it, get him to do the bond. I can go to sleep a happy happy lady and break the news to Brian in the morning. Thankyou once again! Oh I hope this works out and Mindy and Brian can be bonded, I know our big madam can be a bit fussy, as I said she likes Scamp, but her and Dexy HATE each other with a passion. No

I have now read through the whole thread and all I can say is Charlotte my heart is breaking for you, you must be absolutely devastated, I am so sorry this has happened to you, you really don't deserve this at all.

I am so pleased that there looks like a very good chance of a loving forever home with Jo and Roger, I am praying that it works out because then you can have regular updates on his progress and you will not miss out on him, everything is crossed for a succcessful end to this and I hope you will have peace of mind Charlotte
