Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
Uhm, This is the first time I've taken care of a rabbit so it has got me worried seeing that her poop changed. (From dry and round to wet and shapeless)
I bought her a few days ago and she was pooping well until today when I got home. I haven't given her any vegetables and all she has been eating is hay and pellets. She seems very energetic and not weak at all. She hops around like usual and takes a break like usual. Nothing has change except her poo. I'm really worried. She looks very young (I'm not sure how old she is..Sorry). Shes about 4 inches when she is sitting normally like a ball.
When I got home I checked her butt to take out poo that is stuck on her fur when I saw that it was very messy and wet poo was all over. I tried to clean it off but it seems that she kept pooping like that. If its okay for me to post a picture of the current poo I'll gladly upload one.
Please help me, I'm really worried and I don't know what it could be.

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
Do you think you might be feeding her different pellets to the ones they were feeding her in the shop? If so this may have caused the problem and her belly just needs to get used to the change.
I think all you can do is keep her hydrated and keep an eye on her eating habits.
Its a good sign if she is still behaving normally.

Hi Katieb, Here's a picture of her poop. I'm sorry but my camera's lens can't zoom that very good. I hope this helps though.. If I look closely at it and her other poop, it's like what you mentioned earlier. Looks like small grapes squished together but is really wet. I hope the pic isn't very disturbing

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
I'm not sure if I'm feeding her different pellets from that of the shop. All he said was "This kind of pellets are good for rabbits". So I believed him. The pellets are boxed and most of the description is in Japanese. This is what it says on the side of the box "My Peto Rabbit food is made from high quality Alfalfa as main ingredient to provide your lovely rabbit an active and healthier life."
I'm feeling a bit bad that I bought her without knowing anything about diet change and how she would react. Now I'm really worrying like hell >.<
Here's a picture of the box. It's about 7 inches tall when its opened like that. Emo is about 4 1/2 inches when she's curled up in a ball without measuring her front and back legs.

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
Try not to worry honey - you are doing everything right. You are doing a brilliant job.
There is a type of poo thats called a ceacotrophe, this does look like a little bunch of grapes all pushed together and they normally would eat them. This does look a little to wet though.
Please dont worry to much.
I hope someone will be along soon who knows more about this than me, who can help you some more.
Keep an eye on her, if she doesnt get any better you may need to take her to the vets to get her checked out. But for now, just keep doing what you are doing. Perhaps try and persuade her to eat some more hay to try and balance her tummy a little bit.

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
It definately looks like caecotrophs but a bit wet. I would up the hay if she eats it well and lessen the pellets. That should help. x
Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
Hey Catwhiskas, Thanks for the advice. I just put some more hay in her cage right now and lessened the pellets. I hope it does help. She is starting to get weaker. She looks like she's shaking and her breathing has gone fast unlike before. I will take her to the vet as soon as I wake up later. It's 3am here. I should sleep soon but I can't help worry and check up on her. I'm hoping that its not anything serious. I'll try to find a vet who can help her. I hope it won't be hard to find her treatment seeing there are not much people here who takes rabbits as pets.

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
I am sorry to have to say this but she looks very, very young, in fact she looks too young to be away from her mummy, do you know how old she was?, babies shouldn't leave their mums until they are 10 weeks old because they will get ill, they need their mummies milk until then, this could be why she got really ill.
I am so sorry you lost her, she was so pretty, binky free little Emo xxx

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
She can't have been more than 4 weeks old! I would report the place you got her from as if there are other rabbits like her there the same could have had happened or could happen to them.

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
Oh my darling I am so so sorry. She really did look too young to be away from her mum. You did very well and bless you it is a pain neither you or Emo should have had to stand. I am so so sorry. She was a beautiful little bun.
Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
Oh I am so sorry, I think she may have been too young too, so echoe what others have already said.

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
Here. Got her some flowers.. Yeah, She was just almost as big as my hand.
Thanks for the support guys.
I'll be going to the pet store tomorrow to check on the other bunnies. When I got Emo, all the other bunnies were just the same as her. I'll ask how old they are. And maybe complain about not telling me about the pellets. :'(

Re: Poop Change. Could it be diarrhea?
I have been following this thread, but didn't reply. I am so sorry for your loss, it's obvious you did everything you knew to do I totally agree with everyone she looks so so tiny, poor thing, are there any Animal Welfare places that you could maybe report the shop too where you live? Or are services limited there?
They are beautiful flowers and she was lucky to have you in her short life xxxx
