Re: Fleas They Are Back 9/08/08
Oh great
Yesterday Nia and Gabe came into the conservatory to stretch their legs cos of the weather, and when Lou picked Nia up to takre her back there was a flea on her nose. We can't see signs of more on her or Gabe so am wondering if it was a cat flea off the carpet or whether it is a bunny flea.
The cat is off to see the vet this morning for a check up on her kidneys so flea is going too! First tho, all the buns are coming in for flea checks. Am wondering if this is why BJ/Rosie has worms. Am right grumpy with parasites

I HATE parasites. Can pick flea stuff up today. All the cats have been frontlined but it doesn't seem to be stopping these wretched fleas at the moment. ARGH. I am so angry
I went a little mad with anger last night and hunted through Chance's fur like a monkey and pulled 10 fleas off him and then drowned them in a glass of water. It was incredibly satisfying. I think this year is going to be a bad year for fleas. I have never known anything like it. We have always escaped fleas.

Found another flea on Nia this morning but none on any of the other bunsters - although it is mighty difficult checking BJ's and Herbies fur!
I picked up some Advantage for all 7 furries at the vets but am pained to note that the literature claims that Advantage only protects a rabbit for 7 days I have chucked all the carpet out of Nia's and Gabe's hutch in case it is harbouring flea eggs and Nia and Gabe will be getting daily flea checks.

Yup I have mine today, can't believe its 3-4 weeks for a dog, 3 weeks for a cat and only 7 days for bunnies. Chance has had his on and we have been combing dead and dying fleas out of his fur and drowning them in a glass of water. He seems a lot happier! Argh I hate fleas.

My vet said to ignore the 1 week thing in the instructions.
You might want to treat weekly at first, then just every month or so to prevent re-infestation
