Vibes for Charlie Please/ Update on his eye skin infection.

Mike's just rang me and Charlie has a very bad infection on the skin and the vet has given us some penicillin injections for him. Mike said as the vet was bathing his eye Charlie started screaming, Mike had to reassure her that is how he is, Ruby his partner also screams as well and they always have when you try to clean their bottoms or bathe eyes and I wish they wouldn't as it's awful and upset's all the buns but they just do it. They are just big babies

Our vet said it's quite rare to get a skin infection like this and it's difficult to treat and that's why he's been put on penicillin, Charlie is back next week for a check up.

We were telling the vet that his eye problem started when we split him up from Ruby when Ruby had an operation to remove some polpys, we kept them apart while Ruby was healing and when we put them back together Charlie attacked her and so it became a broken bond and we had to try and bond them all over again which we eventually did and the vet think's it's the stress caused by splitting them up, that's upsetting to hear but there was nothing else we could do as Ruby had a big op and Charlie just kept chasing her and biting her and we were worried that he would bite where she had her operation. They were in play pens next to each other all the time they were split up and they could see each other and smell each other. The eye would run and then it would get better and then just lately it has got worse.
Hopefully the penicillin will work but it can give rabbits an upset tummy and cause diarrhea and so we will be watching Charlie to make sure he is ok.

Charlie has been for his check up at the vet's this morning on his eye and she said it's looking a lot better than it was
