They have 19% crude fiber and 39% beneficial fiber. Hmmm What is beneficial fiber? Science Selective have 19% fiber, so which food has the higher content? I cant work out what exactly beneficial fiber is. scratch

I could be wrong but I thing this references the fibre source - so 39% of some sort of grass fibre like timothy. It is the crude fibre value that should be used for comparisons between food.

OK. So does that mean that Excel and SS have the same fiber content?

What else do i need to look at to compare and make decide which is the best pellet? Ive been using SS for about 18 months and in that time Marleys weight has fluctuated. Ive had him checked over a couple of times, hes perfectly healthy and is a healthy weight, but i dont want him to keep changing all the time. It cant be good for him.

I think you should expect some weight fluctuation. My pair certainly do. Flo always fattens up a bit in the early spring and Bruce always looses weight during moult. But they both equal out again. I guess it depends on your bun's needs as to what you look for, but generally I look for high fibre and no sugary substances such as molasses.

I expect some changes, but with them being nethies, i dont like them to fluctuate too much. Marley lost weight in spring time this year, which i wouldnt expect. Dolly was going up and down a lot, but shes been fine since she had her dental and Skyes only 5 months and is starting to level out.

Should i bother with them, or not? Im tempted to try them, and see how we go. SS can be a pain to get hold of at times, and i cant use my parents as a taxi service anymore. I darent open them yet, because knowing me ill open them and change my mind. If i cant use them, ill send them to a rescue or something.

He won't vary it though.... I've tried evey bun food, bought and wild.

Still, he looks well on it! And I don't need to write a new shopping list! Very Happy
