I'm on Burgess Excel Junior and Dwarf pellets. Humum tried to get me onto the Excel Adult first, as that's what The Colony (nine buns) were on and they were all fine. Then she read that the Excel can make sticky bum problems worse, so she switched everyone gradually onto the Allen & Page, which is reputed to be one of the best. Again, everyone except me is fine on them Rolling Eyes so I'm back on the Junior ones.

You could try a high fibre pellet. I notice the hay experts have then new 23% fibre selective for a trial price of 59p for 350g and they sell the oxbow bunny basics which is 29%.

Oxbow Bunny basics is, IMO, the best out there, not just for it's fibre content, but the shape of the pellets is harmonious with the way that teeth are designed to eat food.

Did you see this article in the last edition of Hopping Mad? http://www.hoppingmad.org/E3/pellets.htm

Might give you some ideas. I would get her teeth looked at next time you're at the vets, just to be sure.

Thanks again all.

I have been to the vets tonight and she says she's not convinced it's just my diet. She thinks I might be getting mini bouts of GI Stasis, or possibly that there is something physically wrong inside Shocked

I have a course of Panacur, one of Metoclopramide and I have to have some antibiotics for a while too as I have one slightly snotty nostril Sad But at least my Humum wouldn't let her give me Baytril, so I have Flagyl instead.

My Humum is in for some fun trying to get five different doses of stuff into my mouth over the next few days Suspect

GI stasis is a symptom, not a condition. It always means there is is something else going on, whether that be a fright, pain or digestive upset/flora imbalance.

So tonight she pinned me into a corner of the sofa on a towel instead Mad

Still, I have all night to come up with a new scheme Twisted Evil

Hi Sparky Wave

Yes most of our buns our not on pellets just greens, herbs and unlimited hay. We gradually weaned them off the pellets by reducing the amount each week and then none at all. Since they have been off pellets they don't seem to have as many dirty bottoms as before.
They have a dish of greens twice a day, one with herbs on as well and unlimited nice green hay and sometimes I sprinkle some dried herbs in their hay so they can have a forage Smile

Thanks again peeps, I'm definitely feeling a lot lot lot better. I managed to almost trip Humum up with the food bowl this morning, and it's been a while since I have felt up to that Very Happy

She let me come in the house for tea, although she had an ulterior motive (meds Mad) so I pooed everywhere I could. It turns out that she was really pleased because it meant she could have a good look at them, and thought they looked 'much better'. Humans are weird Hmmm

My bunny Zero used to have sticky poops on Excel pellets. The Science Selective pellets cleared it up. It does take quite a while for a dietary change to have an effect on poop output - so don't expect anything instant. It took maybe 2-3 months of SS pellets instead of Excel pellets before Zero's tummy settled properly.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Sparky. Not sure what you can do to get the humans back now that the weeing and pooing has failed. Guess you need to try and chew something next!

Wow, it looks like you've been well spoilt Sparky. Also sounds like your hoomins need to invest in some rose bushes so they can dry their own for you.
