How do you store your herbs?

For those of you who feed herbs to your buns, how do you store them and keep them fresh for as long as possible?!

Mine seem to be going off really quick.

I use these bags from lakeland that really do work: http://www.lakeland.co.uk/1094/20-Stayfresh-Longer-Bags-25-x-38cm. In the months at the end of last year and beginning of this year I found that they kept herbs a good 5 or so days after their use by date. But now it's in summer even these don't seem to be working very well.

Do you mean dried herbs we store our's in these plastic boxes ( below) which were from Poundstretchers but Tescos have them as well.




Oh you mean fresh herbs I've put my glasses on now
we keep those in the fridge .

i keep my fresh herbs in the salad/crisper draw in fridge

We keep fresh herbs in the fridge too. (Not the ones still in a pot though, that would be mean!)

I wrap them in kitchen roll, put them back in the original packet, then in a food bag, then in the fridge

I think the kitchen roll really help

(Not that Molly and Junior actually like any herbs but this is what I do it with my fresh chives and any herbs I try them with)

I might try the kitchen roll, ours always seem to be quite damp.

Fresh herbs from the supermarket i keep in the fridge. Any that i grow, i just leave them to grow until i want them. If they look like theyre on their way out then i cut and dry them

ziplock bags work well. Squeeze out the air as much as you can. Try to keep them in a warmer area of the fridge such as the door. If they get too cold the herb will go watery.

I have the fresh ones in the same boxes as Maysie in the fridge in the garage....... Charlie is often found sitting patiently outside the garage door!
