Re: Helens Eye/ E.Cuniculi/ UD Friday P12 :-)
Mike has just got home with Helen and Baby Saint and he has been talking to the vet about Helens eye and the vet (who's not our usual vet) said that she had never seen anything like Helens eye before and contacted her friend who was an eye specialist and her friend told her she had only seen it ever before in one other rabbit and they usually have to have the eye removed within a few days of the ulcer appearing as it's very difficult to treat. So that's why the vet was amazed at how good Helens Eye was looking, Mike and myself feel so relieved as the thought of Helen having to go through an op to remove her eye was so upsetting.

Another Tuckerbunny success story! I'm so thankful and happy that sweet Helen's eye is healing up quite nicely. Good job Mommy and Daddy Tucker!

We carry on with the treatment they are both on a course of Panacur and they are back at the vet's next week as we are worried
about Baby Saint as Helen has washed all her fur off her little legs and they are sore and we need the vet to have a look.
Mike has put a divide up on their pen so although Kenzo can see them he can't get near them and there is a divide on the other side where Tia is. Luckily Helen and Baby Saint
don't go out in the garden as they can't stand it, plus with them both being incontinent they are at risk of flystrike.
I just know whenever we lose one of our special girls the other won't last long without them

I assume the positive EC result is not *too* much of a worry, as they are being treated and not showing symptoms?

Well they are both on Panacur and Metacam mainly Metacam for Helen's eye and Baby Saint is on it for her arthritis and Helen's on Baytril to. They are going to see our vet next week, it wasn't our vet that has been seeing Helen as she has been off for two weeks at a conference but she was in today when Mike went with Siskin and Mike showed her a photo of Helens eye and she said straight away that's e.cuniculi and Baby Saint will have it to. Baby Saint does go round in circles when she is stressed but we put that down to her being blind and disabled as we have had blind bunnies that have done that before, now we are wondering if it is the E.C.
We will do our utmost best to help them I know that.

Re: Helens Eye/ E.Cuniculi/ UD Friday P12 :-)
I have everything crossed that the Panacur prevents any further problems with the girls. My understanding of EC, and this is probably not quite correct as EC seems to be difficult to understand, is that EC can lay dormant for a while before, if ever, causing problems. I also seem recall something about bleach cleaning everything a certain number of days into the treatment 28? 35? The only thing I am certain about is that it is an awful condition. I am so sorry that the girls have been diagnosed with it
This must be such an awful thought for you to have to cope with
