Rescue Animals Reaction To Things
Something really weird just happened!! I'm watching "Phantom of the Opera", and Dougal, who isn't bothered by TV/music froze when the Phantom of the Opera song started, and looked absolutely terrified. The whole time it was playing he was trying to hide, then as soon as it stopped he laid down again.
What on earth went on! It got me wondering whether his last house were musical fans or something, it was the strangest thing he's ever done! He doesn't like the hoover, but he just jumps in his litter tray and glares at it, but this was a complete fear look. It isn't even on loud.
Has anyone else had a rescue bun who's reacted very weirdly to something?!

Could he been sensitive to some sounds as rabbits have fantastic hearing they can hear a pin drop. I know when our house alarm went off it was so loud in the house and it upset all the rabbits as it must have seemed even louder to them.

Temperance is frightened by lots of noises/sounds, she freaks out and runs and hides and usually starts thumping as well.
MJ doesn't seem to get frightened at all. Actually at first I wondered if he was deaf because he is so unresponsive to things that scare the bejesus out of T.

Re: Rescue Animals Reaction To Things
Every rescue bun we have had has reacted strangely to something. Trooper was afraid of men wearing hats....even if he knew them and otherwise liked them. Thumper was afraid of women until he made friends with our granddaughter. Rory is afraid of men....but then we saw the man mistreat him when we went to get him.

It's just that one song Dougal has been reacting to! It's so weird, he keeps doing it each time its played. But other songs in the film he hasn't reacted to. Hmmm odd one!

Re: Rescue Animals Reaction To Things
I've recently discovered that Molly and Junior detest the sound of keys jingling!! I walked into their room with my keys in my hand on Friday and they both bolted to the back of the pen with terrified looks in their eyes.
They also freak out at the noise of us emptying the dishwasher.
It's all very odd!!!

So if a man wearing a hat and jingling some keys while singing Phantom of the Opera suddenly appeared, and then hoovered and emptied the dish washer our bunnies would not be happy!

My little Mo absolutely hates when I wear slippers in their room. He bolts under his chair and won't come out until I'm gone...

Throw my Humum into the mix and I'd be behind the sofa with the other buns

Ok so we've got to hope that man wearing a hat and slippers, jingling some keys while singing Phantom of the Opera, hovering and emptying the dish washer doesn't appear at a party with Sparky's Humum

If it was the song with the heavy organ interludes Dougal is probably hearing something our human ears don't. Poor precious.

Nibbler's not rescue as such, just passed from pillar to post so I don't really know what his life was like before, but he really dislikes any sort of hip hop (though I just put that down to thumpy beats) and once my OH had boxing on, Mr Blobby was some sort of mascot or something which scared the daylights out of Nibbler. He tends to do the scramble, run away when I'm doing laundry and am folding big sheets too and also thumps back at me when I'm chopping food on the wooden chopping board

Binky is very jumpy with certain noises. Very often if he hears a sudden noise and if it is close he is OK, if however it is in another room he really freaks.
