Clicky

It's a sharps bin for clinical waste disposal. I've been a complete numpty and have been putting used syringes in the garbage for the past two years without even thinking about it (though I did cap all the needles).

So I have to fill this little container up and then take it to the vets to be emptied and incinerated, incase your wondering I have two bunnies on injections every third day at the moment.

Anyone else used one of these?

Yeah we use them all the time for First aiding stuff!! Shocked I can't believe your vets never said anything until now?! though thinking about it, my vet never said anything to me when I had to give Benji injections, I just took all the empty syringes back after I was done, I guess because of my first aid training, I knew it was classed as clinical watse, and was slightly worried about putting it in the bin, but otherwise I doubt I would have had a clue, and would of just dropped them in the bin, I bet there are hundreds of people who have done it.....

I think the nurses were supposed to have told me, and because I didn't know any different they assumed that they had...it's just that with the quantity of needles I will be using they thought it would make storage safer and so it all came out. Embarassed

Phil said the pharmacy on the corner of our road woul probably dispose of them for me too.

awesome sooz. all you need now is an exam table and a stethoscope and you're all set to go into business!!!
Don't worry about putting the sharps in the bin - I put a dead snake in my bin once without even thinking Laughing
