bonding question? Empty bonding question?

Post by Kate7590 Wed Feb 18, 2009 6:52 pm

Hi all, well today I had my old netherland dwarf buck out in the garden, and brought out the 2 babies who are 7 and a half weeks old.
They all got on really well, with only slight grumpiness from ralphie but he ended up grooming them in the end.
Im not sure STILL if the babies are boys/girls, but I THINK there is a boy and a girl...but really not sure Embarassed

My question is, will Ralph continue to get on with them as the babies grow up?
I am keeping one of the babies, the one that I THINK is a girl. Will Ralph and Harley [the baby im keeping] get on well enough to live together?
& will they get on okay if Harley is a boy??

Ralph is nuetered, if that makes a difference.

Thanks for any help =]

If he is a boy then he will need to be neutered as soon as his testicals drop and Ralph should go with him to the vets so that the bond is not disrupted. Male:male bonds are tricky things and very hard to keep running smoothly but it can be done if you follow all the golden rules....it does help if the males involved are very laid back or submissive though.

If, at 12 weeks, your still unsure of the babies sexes can I suggest you seperate them just to be safe. Smile
