Moving to Canada?
Hi everyone.
I have been thinking for a while now about moving to Canada with my fiance, who is canadian.
But I was wondering about the bunnies? Chris [fiance] bought a lovely German lop bun for himself a few months ago, as I said he can choose a bun for himself.. But I think he would be heartbroken if we had to leave him here if we moved.
Has anyone any experience of transporting buns from country to country?
Im gueseing it will be pretty expensive, but im sure it can be done.
Any ideas?

Re: Moving to Canada?
There is a lady on another forum who took her buns from Spain to the US and they were fine.

Re: Moving to Canada?
looking into transporting a dog from Romania to the UK, I have come across info, but I don't know how useful it is to you!
ONLY 2 or 3 airlines will allow buns to come on the cabin with you, under the seat. I know KLM is one. The condition is that the carrier and bun must weigh 5kgs or under. Any higher, and they go in cargo. I personally would never think of putting a bun in cargo, it would be extremley traumatising.
I don't know the prices of transporting a bun to Canada, but looking at bringing a small dog from Romania was circa £2-300 on the tightest budget airline, considering our flights were less than half of that!

Re: Moving to Canada?
Thank you coco, thats quite helpful. I wouldnt like the idea of putting a bun in cargo but have heard they can go with you if under a certain weight, which you say is 5kg, which is good coz bunny in question is 3kg and nearly fully grown.
I will look into this some more, but thanks for getting me on track :]

Re: Moving to Canada?
Air Canada are allowing pets to come in cabins now. but it says cats or small dogs... it might be worth getting in contact with them about bunnies, if you are thinking of flying with them?
