Wave hello people don't worry my bunnies are not ill. I just thought that it may be an idea to get together a thread of all the signs to look out for in case your little friend is in pain.. Things like tummy pressing tooth grinding ect

I think it's a good idea.

tooth grinding can also mean they are happy, so it's not realy a sign to rely on...

Pain signs that I can think of include: sitting in the same spot forever looking miserable, not laying down, avoiding human contact, scratching their ears alot, not eating, not pooping, agressivity...

But it realy depends on the bunny, so it's pretty much up to the owner to know their bunnies usual behavior and get worried if they see anything unusual
Hmmm

i agree its best to know your bun inside out so when they start acting not normal you will pic up on it.

Rapid breathing can that be a sign?

whenever mine have been ill, they get very 'spaced out'. they go and sit in a corner of the hutch and they are really hunched over and look really miserable. They don't want attention and their ears don't twitch when you approach.

If it is bloat, there can be a lot of lying stretched out on the belly and ignoring treats that they would normally mug you for.

Good thread, sorry I've only just seen it Thumbs Up

Bertie just looks uncomfortable and a bit awkward when his gut slows down. He'll sit still, sometimes shifting his lower end around a bit - looking as if he's trying to get comfy.

He'll go off his food over about an hour. When he won't eat Coriander, I know he's in pain/unwell.

When he was having alternate days stasis for a few months, he started sitting in 1 of 2 places, but he only sat there when he was unwell, so I knew as soon as I saw him in one of them, that he wasn't good.

Sometimes he's flop out in his litter tray, 'puddinged out' is what I call it, he's sort of collapsed in the middle.

Does anyone know if narrowed eyes can be a sign of discomfort?

I find with Jelly, if she semi closes her eyes i know she is in pain. She always does it when i stroke her etc, but if shes hunched up on her own, and her eyes are semi closed, i class that as a sign with her.
