Stasis/no energy...
Hello.
I took my French lop, Sophie, to the Vets on Thursday. She seemed a bit quiet and had gone off her food. When I got to the vets her temperature was 108 - very high. She also had pain in her larynx.
She was given baytrill, metacam, metroclopromide and critical care. She was still pooping and nibbling on some greens.
Yesterday, Friday, she seemed to still be quiet and not eating much at all. Her poops had also got alot smaller. I took her to the vets again and her tempertaure had gone down to 101 and her larynx seemed to have improved. He gave me Ranitidine.
During the night she was very still and kept weeing and pooping on the spot - she didn't have the energy to get to her litter tray or move. She was very good and took all of her medicine, syringe feed and water.
I rang the vet again this morning and my usual vet was away so I spoke to another vet. She said Sophie was very lucky to be alive after her high temperature on Thursday. She then said that I am doing everything that they would be able to do at the surgery, so to continue. She did say they could put her on a drip but if she is taking fluids at home to keep here with me.
She is currently led next to me with her little nose twitching and the rest of her is totally still.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tanya

Re: Stasis/no energy...
I've never had a bun with a sore larynx so can't really help, all the other meds sounds like what Bruno had the last time he was really ill to get his gut moving again once the pain relief was working.
Sending lots of nomming, pooing and peeing vibes.
