Roberta the Robin / Update...SHE'S BACK!!!! :-)
We have two Robins that when we whistle will appear not at the same times, we call them Robbie and Roberta and they both love suet pellets and will tell you when they want some by virtually following you round the garden.
Roberta has been here everyday as she has a nest and loves the suet pellets for her young ones but she appeared the other day and she is hurt, she is holding one of her legs up and holding one of her wings up higher than the other and I think she may have flown into a window. I'm now upset that she has internal injuries or hurt something we can't see
Please can we have some Vibes for her as she is very special and quite amazing

Wow, I absolutely love these pictures, as I particularly love Robins. So much that my 17 year old daughter is called Robyn! My all- time favourite bunny was called Roberta too.

Yes she is flying to and from the nest with food for her young ok but it's quite windy today and I can see the wind is effecting her with having a hurt leg, I do worry so much about Robbie and Roberta as we have a Sparrowhawk who has taken a few of our Blue Tits and I fear for them both. we haven't seen Robbie for a few weeks as it is
It's her leg that worries me the most as infection can travel into her body and kill her.
Will keep you updated on her health.

she may have been nabbed by a cat or something ... lets hope not tho as that would be worse. Im sure you feeding her will help get her strength back without having to hunt for food.

Re: Roberta the Robin / Update...SHE'S BACK!!!! :-)
I've been in the garden this afternoon and she nearly landed on my head I put some more suet pellets out for her and she is still a bit unsteady on her legs and tucking her poorly leg up and standing on one. Mike has been and got some special Robin mix which I will put out for her in special places.
I walked round the front garden and she followed me and then I sat on the lawn and she flew down near me it's just such an amazing feeling to have a wild bird follow you

Corrina pointed this story out to me earlier when I was at hers. How absolutely lovely that you care for them so. Your husband is a treasure too. I hope robert is going to be ok. She is in the best hands with your catering service on hand! x
Update 10th June
Update Friday 10th June
Mike has just been out to fill the bird feeders and Roberta appeared and flew down on one of the solar lights that are stuck in the ground, she is not as fluffed up ( which can be a sign of sickness) as she was but she is still standing on one leg and seems to have a few feathers mangled on her right wing but she is still managing to feed her babies Bless her.
We have special places where we leave food for her and she will fly with you as you put the food in the special places and she does remember where they are....she is a very special little bird.
This is before and as Mike walked out to fill the bird feeders down came Roberta (she's sat on the solar light)

Re: Roberta the Robin / Update...SHE'S BACK!!!! :-)
I always love to see a Robin at Christmas although I know they are around for the rest of the year. I love christmas cards with robins on, I always have, usually sitting on a postbox covered in snow.

I am so sorry, I would be distressed too. Please let us know when she comes back. It is lovely how these little things find their way into our hearts.

3rd day Roberta still missing.
Still no sign of her and I know she had babies as she was taking food for them, I only hope that she is stopping with her babies and a male who was Robbie is helping to get in the food, she loves suet pellets and would appear when I shook the little cup with them in..

No sign of Roberta still.
I keep calling her but there is no sign, I even sat outside for ages the other day just calling her but nothing. I'm hoping she is sat on a nest again as Robins can have 2 broods a years sometimes even 3 and that is why she has not been to see me
