Dilemma, any tips?
As some of you know, my two boys have fought like H*** the past few days. I had to split them up.... Now they live in half the space they're used to, but the can see each other..
Should I let them stay where they are, or give them bigger pens? With bigger pens they cant see each other because they'll be in different rooms....

Re: Dilemma, any tips?
Tricky one...
When I split my two first buns up they actually shared a space, just stayed in seperate hutches.
The only negative was every so often Vodka would try and get Coke through the bars.
But if there's no risk of this I'm sure it'll be more beneficial to give them bigger pens.
Just my personal opinion.
Good luck!!

I want to give them bigger pens, but then I have to move them to different rooms.. and I'm worried they'll miss each other, even though they want to kill each other..

Re: Dilemma, any tips?
I know, it's such a hard decision.
I think the most importat thing is that they're safe. Do you have a lead for them? Maybe keep them in the smaller pens but let them have a 30 min run around with you in the back garden?
It's difficult to know what the best thing to do is.

Re: Dilemma, any tips?
Right now it's so cold I dont want to have them outdoors. But I have the entire livingroom to let them out in for a few.. but then the problem is that they want to bite each other throught the bars of the pen..
Maybe I should move them to different rooms and see how they react to that..
I'm just scared they might miss each other so much they get depressed and sick and stops eating... O.o

Re: Dilemma, any tips?
As long as they have a lot of attention from you it'll be fiiiiiine!
They may love having a bit of a break and getting more attention from you.
Try the seperate room thing and see how it goes x

Re: Dilemma, any tips?
I think it is an issue if you don't want to have any more buns. They will get some companionship by being able to see each other. However space is also important. I would tend to lean to the side of leaving them side by side and giving each equal free run time. But if they start to spray each other or fight through the bars then move them.

Re: Dilemma, any tips?
It depends whether you want to try to re-bond them. It will be easier if they can still interact as long as it is nice interaction. You can put the cages near each other but not so close that any noses can be bitten should they be poked into the other's cage. They are such territorial little blighters and it is such a shame that they make their lives lonelier. Hope you can achieve a resolution.

Re: Dilemma, any tips?
Two different answers.. XD great.. just kidding..
hmm.. maybe I'll try yours cheryl? Less stress with moving for one of them, and less work for me.. I'll just give'm extra with toys (as if they actually need any more toys.. )
