Re: Spay after care
She just escaped
My fault, never shut the door to her pen properly
She did not want to go back in, but managed to trap her and get her in the carrier and back in her pen.

Re: Spay after care
She won't feel like eating her normal amount but as long as she is eating and there is input and output, it sounds really good. If she was in pain she would be hunched up and reluctant to move. She doesn't sound like she's in pain to me.

Re: Spay after care
Thanks for the reassurance guys
She has eaten a few barley rings, 1.5 small carrots, a handful of coriander and a few dried leaves.
Barley rings and carrots are usually just occasional treats!!
The only thing is she hasn't really been drinking, earlier I gave her 1/4 of a syringe (meant for the syringe feeding stuff) of water with a little bit of pineapple juice in it and she took most of that so I'll do the same again later.

Re: Spay after care
Good idea, keeping her hydrated is a really good idea,
So long as she is eating - it doesnt matter what it is.
Please give her a cuddle from me x x x

Re: Spay after care
She's still not really drinking but she is peeing and pooing (although they are still about 1/2 normal size), she has eaten quite a lot of dill, coriander and some parsley, some dried leaves, a few barley rings and some pellets.
I ran out of carrots last night fortunately I have loads at the farm so can get more today. I did buy cucumber for her but she's not eating it
She is also quite active and has started periscoping a bit.
I put a little but of hay in her food bowl but I'm not sure she's touched it. When will I be able to put some hay back in her litter tray? Thats mainly when she eats it.
She was being all snuggley this morning, then I had to give her her meds and now she's sulking

Re: Spay after care
it may take her a few days for her to start eating and drinking normally,it took snowflake a few days longer than spike, iam not sure about the hay but i think i left it about 5-6 days and at least she is eating and drinking, thats a good sign

Re: Spay after care
The bar rattling started the other day, this morning she has given her tent a pummelling, ripped up a load of newspaper, (she has ripped LOTS of newspaper over the last few days) pulled thread out of her fleece blanket and rattled the bars repeatedly.
I think its safe to say she is truly fed up of being stuck in her cage. I have called the vet and we have a check up appointment this afternoon so hopefully I'll be told she can come out to play!
Also her meds are nearly finished, which is good because she getting wrigglier and wrigglier everytime we have to give them to her, and I've now been growled at twice!!
