Interesting stuff. Again it makes me wonder about selective versus the alternatives (selective being alfalfa based yet my buns do so much better on it than the alternative). I would also note that the article comes from the states so maybe they don't have oap diet.

That's really interesting Cheryl. I think your thread got lost because it was on NYE!
I stopped using SS because both Bertie got really too big on it, and I'm very careful in rationing pellets, he used to get 8 SS pellets a day. With him having arthritis, getting big wasn't an option.
Once we took him off them his weight came down to normal levels pretty quickly. I realise that this may have been down to his unique metablolism, but it was enough to make me wary.
I'm really surprised they don't have an OAP feed in the US - not one to miss a marketing opportunity!
