Re: covers for hutch
You could buy a cheap tarpaulin and cut and stitch that to shape. Or a quad bike cover might be OK, they even have straps with click together buckles so it won't blow away

Re: covers for hutch
I just stapled the last of the insulation foil to the outside (on the back where wood is thinner quility) got 2 rows so the top half and half the bottom is covered with it. hubby says better cover it with plastic too so the thin stuff had over the front can do it was far to thing to use as a cover for the doors. going up to b&q to get lengths of wood slats (5mm thick by about 1nch) and heavy duty plastic and make blinds for the front area, make 4 sep so only need to open 1 section to get into her if weather is bad instead of uncovering the entire length just to open 1 door. use velcro to make straps to hold it up when rolled away on bottom level and just pull top one over the roof.

Re: covers for hutch
Buy some silver bubble wrap. The reflective surface helps keep in the heat in winter and reflect it out in summer. You can get it in the plumbing/insualtion aisle of diy stores and it is much cheaper than buying a specific fitted cover. Just tack it in place then put a waterproof cover over the top. And as Father Jack says tarp can be good for that. Or you can buy proper waterproof material like the scartch and newton ones use.
Also have you tried looking on the rabbit hutch shop? They have covers for all sorts of different hutches including all the old PAH ones.

I also put the thermowrap under the floor of the piggy hutch and it has made a real difference to the ambient temperature in the hutch on the cold days.

Re: covers for hutch
Even pets at home dont do the cover for this one, its the biggest double level one they sell, but there is a slightly smaller one that sells more and they have a cover for that. Stupid if you ask me, I stapled that stuff to teh back, got the thin plastic will get hubby to cover it with that while I nip out for the front stuff. the sides are thicker and well sealed cladding so shouldnt get to cold in winter. can always make a insulated covers that slips down the sides when bad weather comes back. The front going to get heavy plastic to keep rain out, bed area I might get more of the foil and make a thicker flap for the bed area to keep her warm.

look at the measurements not the pic. If it is not big enough put Thistle hall on their search facility. That's the old PAH double hutch. This place has a much larger stock choice than PAH.

Re: covers for hutch
that cover is to small cheryl would only cover the top half not missing the bottom, need to get some clips or velcro to hold the curtains in place lol so dont flap too much if gets really windy.

Re: covers for hutch
It shouldn't be too small - it is 112cm high (3ft 6) and is designed to hook around the legs of the hutch. As I said, don't look at the pics look at the measurements - 153cm (5ft1) wide, 112cm (3ft6) high and 60cm (2ft) deep.

Re: covers for hutch
Is the picture just a standard picture, its a single level hutch not double.

Re: covers for hutch
yep it is just a standard pic. Check the measurements against your hutch measurements. I think they could really do with improving their pictures.

Re: covers for hutch
Remeber you are measuring from floor of hutch to roof top not bottom of leg to roof top. the 2cm depth won't be an issue. The way the front velcros around will cover that space no problem.

Re: covers for hutch
If it's that sort of size, a normal £15 motorbike cover would do the job

Re: covers for hutch
Hi there,
We have the Rose Cottage for our buns.
Last winter I put two layers of silvered bubble wrap (B&Q were doing it 3 for 2 or something like that) on the top, sides and back - held together with Duck tape.
Hutch hugger on top - snug as a bug.
When the weather is really bad I put a tarp over the roof of the run and make an additional cover from a large poly sheet (B&Q again) that goes over the hutch and stretches down over the run in front. This is it with the layers rolled back:
One side is open so it's still ventilated, but it does protect them really well. The nice thing is that if it's raining you can lift it up and go underneath to replenish hay, feed etc and you and the buns and the hutch stay dry.
The cheapest I've see the hutch hugger on line is here:
