Milo broke his leg

We were on holiday when we got the call that Milo's leg wasnt right.

He's had it x rayed and now referred to Fitzpatrick in Surrey.

They have successfully (fingers crossed) plated it and he's home.

We are now poor but at leadt we have our bunny back.

He has cage rest for 6-10 weeks now

That would be the bionic vet? I bet that was pricey indeed. But at least Milo is now ok. Poor boy! Sending lots of vibes for a full recovery.

Have no idea but Milo is now a bionic bunny.

They are called Fitzpatrick Referrals very good but VERY pricey.

We were warned but I thought the insurance would cover it! hah little did I know!

We were offered a cheaper place but Sandhole recommended them and we thought if we ignored it and went somewhere else and it failed we'd blame ourselves.

His insurance doesnt cover the whole bill, many people tell me that would have put him down but how can you? they are the family and how can he survive with a leg amputated

We have agreed no more pets and I think I mean it this time

I've told hubby we could get a dog as the insurance is much better on dogs! he says no

Should add his x rays make him look like a mechano set.

He'd broken the femur diagnally and he had hairline fractured the reamining broken bone down into his knee.

He has a plate and about 7 screws.

I have just googled them - he is indeed the bionic vet from the t.v. He is a world leader in this type of surgery so Milo has been in the very best hands.

yay should be he has just cost me thousands and my insurance only covers 1500!!

At least we took him to the best place for the best chance.

we decided to as if it didnt work at another vet we'd always wonder and be concious that we didnt go there as it was more expensive.

I think he jumped off his carrier only thing I can think of..

Katie he's doing ok, not liking the blow up collar to stop him pulling the stitches. We put it on at night and when we are out.
He has stitches out in 2 weeks then x rays in 6 to check its healing okay.
He's already frustrated with cage rest and has 10 weeks to go!
I know we did the right thing but seeing him so miserable makes me feel awful:'(
His poops aren't quite good so may pop to the vets for some fibreplex tomorrow. X

I am so glad he is on the mend love and I can just imagine the sort of money you had to pay. I bet he is getting lots of loves and treats, so no change there then LOL!!
