I apologise for my ignorance, but is he diabetic? I just wondered because you said you checked his glucose levels.

When rabbits go into ileus they can go into shock and their glucose level goes up and so that is why we check it.

Mike has given him some meds and fluids and if he's no better we will have to think about taking him to the vet's today. Sad

Mike rang the emergency vet for advice and has taken Kenzo down there

Surely God wouldn't be as cruel to take another of our bunnies

Mike has just rang the vet think's Kenzo has ileus, Mike said he didn't seem to have much idea about rabbits as it's not our usual vet but what can you do we don't want to lose him. It's cost £100 before Mike got there and just over another £100 to be told he has ileus and some meds that's over £200 in one day

We have to keep him warm so I will make an indoor cage up in the lounge and he isn't having anymore greens as I don't think he can tolerate them as they are.

He is still very poorly he just doesn't move, I think when and if we get him right he is going to have to have an x-ray and scan as there must be something else going on here this isn't right every other week he has a poorly tummy like Chudleigh and his bloat. Mike and I are really worried about him and we have both got a 'stress' headache.

Mike is sleeping on the sofa next to Kenzo tonight , he syringe fed him before and it's as if he is a toy rabbit he just doesn't move I can see the worry on Mikes face. Sometimes I feel that Kenzo has given up on life he has never been the same since he lost Hope his companion over a year ago, he has suffered from depression and had numerous tummy upset's I just think he loved Hope so much Sad

I'm thinking of you all. It's awful to think he is depressed because he lost Hope, and in reality there isn't much you can do for him except show him you love him and keep him happy and comfy.

How is he today?

Mike syringe fed Kenzo every two hours throughout the night but to be honest there is no change he is just sat all the time motionless. I think Mike is going to take him to see our own vet as he said the vet he saw yesterday didn't even know how to test a bunny for bloat and asked Mike why he is testing Kenzo's glucose levels.
The vet wouldn't give us any needles either for the Vetergesic as he said he didn't know us so we are having to give the Vetergesic by mouth instead of injection.
Mike said he felt he knew more about rabbits than the vet did.
