Jeeves not eating :( UD 'Thurs AM'
He's refusing pellets, carrot, corriander, dill and fenugreek Crunchies.
His tummy isn't hard and he is moving to get away from us when we offer him food.

Oh no Jeeves! This is exactly what Joey was doing the other day. Does he look in any discomfort or feel bloated?

Re: Jeeves not eating :( UD 'Thurs AM'
His tummy feels quite soft, I don't Think he's bloated but then again I don't know what bloated feels like.
He keeps flopping out, it's so hard to tell with him because he's such a chilled out nonchalant bunny anyway.
I've got him in at the vets at 12 since they close at 12.30 and what with the long weekend I can't risk it.
Any medication I should keep an eye out for? Can't remember the name of the gut motility drug, metaclopramide?

Re: Jeeves not eating :( UD 'Thurs AM'
I'd perhaps describe how it feels as a bit doughy. Good idea to get him before they shut, otherwise it makes things a lot harder doesn't it!
Metaclopromide is one of the motility drugs and you want them to give him a decent dose of painkiller (Joey had Metacam).
Sending vibes, I hope it goes ok

Re: Jeeves not eating :( UD 'Thurs AM'
Just had chance to sit down with my computer. We've been back for about forty five minutes maybe a bit more.
We saw a brilliant vet, she was different to who we saw last week and different to our usual.
She had a good look in his mouth and said there were some small spurs there but they hadn't done any damage yet and they weren't too much to worry about (strange since the vet last week said there were none).
He's also lost a little bit of weight, he was 2.45 last week I think and he's now 2.33
She felt his tummy and said he was dilated and had some gas but on the plus side she could hear some gurgling so he still had some motility and she could feel some poos waiting to come out.
He had metacam and emeprid injections and I have been sent home with baytril and zantac to give twice a day.
Half an hour after his injections (15 min drive home and 15 sitting in carrier at home while we cleaned up) he ate a couple of pellets we offered him, some hay and some grass
The vet said if he crashes again tomorrow after the metacam has worn off then it's possible to put it down to his teeth and to call and she will give him another dose of metacam.
He has had his baytril (which he hated!!) and I am now going to go out an give him his zantac.
He was adorable in the vets, he isn't normally very affectionate towards me, he's too cool But he snuggled right into my arm hiding his head and also hid inside my coat
I will probably ring her tomorrow to update her and ask how long to give the baytril and zantac for as I don't think that was covered.

Re: Jeeves not eating :( UD 'Thurs AM'
He's putting up a bit of a fight at the moment. Keeps hiding when we try and pick him up, he was syringed all last week too so he must be sick of it. He seems to have eaten us out of the herbs we tried to tempt him out with so all we can do is wait.
I must say I'm much calmer this time around which is a pleasant surprise!

Re: Jeeves not eating :( UD 'Thurs AM'
I'm glad the meds seem to be working
Come on Jeeves, nom nom nom
I would point out that some of the members here have experienced that even the smallest tooth spur can put their buns off their food - it might be worth getting that looked into a bit further

Re: Jeeves not eating :( UD 'Thurs AM'
I'll certainly mention it The vet did point it out to me as well so that's promising that she knows what she's talking about.
Just caught him to give him his zantac and he did some poos! Some are very very very golden! And some quite dark.
Tigger had very few misshapen ones but then she started doing normal, I think it was the stress of the journey.
Jeeves must have copied Joey! Not the best ideas you've ever had you pair.
Thanks for all the thoughts and vibes!!
