Hi all,

When Myrtle lived outside we used to scrub her hutch and run out every week but for the past year she has been inside free range. I am a bit worried about bacterial load in the carpet and have thought about shampooing it but am unsure if this will be the best idea - could it do more harm than good because of any chemical cleaners?
What do you guys think? confused

thanks for the reply! I hope there are no chemicals remaining - it should rinse it clean quite well... Myrtle likes to lick the carpet though No

When she licks her beds its ok as they can be washed in the machine.

Is licking the carpet normal?

As 'normal' as any bunny behaviour Wink

Humum has been looking into carpet cleaning and people recommend the Vax liquid - you just need to keep bunnies off it until it is thoroughly dry.

I get my stairs done all the time because of dog tracks and the bunnies etc I always ask if they have animal safe cleaners most usually are, or you could ask if they could do it twice with hottish water??
