Re: Alfie's eyes
I'm glad he seems better! You never know he could have got a bit of hay in his eye the way they shove their heads in the hay foraging.
She is run off her feet, we were there Saturday from about 11.30 to 6.30 and we must have seen about 30 visitors, they were non stop as well and all waiting to see her so she was manic! Yes, unfortunately so many buns and even more coming in
Had a vet ring up on saturday and say a woman had dumped a rabbit on them, it apparently wasn't hers but they didn't believe her. Asked if Caroline could take it and she said she's completely overrun and wishes she could but was struggling. Their reply was 'well if you don't take it we will euthanise it' little bunny is safe with her now though.

Re: Alfie's eyes
Poor Caroline, it's awful of the vet to put her in that situation, they obviously knew she would take it if they said they were going to put it to sleep. I wish they would bring in a law to stop pet shops selling buns.
To be honest Alfie is always sticking his head in the hay and rooting about so it could have been a bit of hay or dust.
Thanks Fiver, he's been dashing round like a madman today.

Re: Alfie's eyes
Thanks SJ I was a bit worried, especially as when I chose him at the rescue Caroline said that he had been having problems with one of his eyes. I'm always anxious that eye problems mean teeth problems, let's hope not. Is Jelly ok now?

Re: Alfie's eyes
Yeh, she looks like an absolute rat bag though! This is by far her most unattractive moult yet! And her claws need cutting but I cant do her by myself and Mum hasnt had a free day yet, but we are doing it tomorrow. So she looks a bit trampy poor lady!!
She had a dental aggges ago now, I cant even remember when it was, maybe 2010? and shes been fine ever since, and Pebbles had one this time last year and she hasnt needed another since either so im very pleased. All my buns are 5-6 years now so Im dreading it - only Peanut was ever unwell, my trio has only ever had one or two things their whole lives and nothing serious, I am dreading old age!

Re: Alfie's eyes
I am so pleased that Alfie is OK. Hay 'dust' can get into
their eyes when they dig and burrow. They way their eyes are
placed i'm amazed it doesn't happen ALL the time!
