Smallest hutches :-(
I've just been told that my local pet shop is selling teeny hutches. I always liked shopping there as they didn't sell animals but now this ....
I'm going to have to pop in there tomorrow to discuss it with them.
Any ideas on really good, clear and simple literature I can take? Something that is a bit in your face and hard hitting?

Tea I've got that one ... It's quite busy though. I was hoping for something which kinda said - this is what happens to buns in small hutches - fact!

Re: Smallest hutches :-(
Humum got 100 printed 'A Hutch Is Not Enough' leaflets from the RWAF for the cost of postage, and our little local pet shop have been good enough to put them on display.
I hope yours are as accommodating

I wish I had pictures of how crooked Rory's little legs were when we got him. Anyone with a heart would have shuddered.

They just didn't care - I handed them lots of info and the owner was rude, horrible and nasty. I feel a fb campaign coming on.

Re: Smallest hutches :-(
How awful, it's one thing when they know no better but to be rude and uncaring
When Humum has a car she intends to keep for a while, she intends to plaster it with rabbit welfare stickers and leave it parked outside places like that
The RWAF are very good for getting in touch with places, if you pass the details of the shop on to them. It must be so disheartening for them at times, getting that sort of response. Bless them, and the efforts they put in for bunkind

Re: Smallest hutches :-(
Lucy Rose would have been the perfect bun to take. Her inability to hop, binky or even periscope due to being in a small hutch with my neighbours MIL was heart breaking. God rest her soul.
There is a video that Anne McBride did on rabbits needing space, i thought that was good, but it depends if youre able to show the video and if theyre going to actually watch it!
And whilst its not in your face, and hard hitting, I did a short research project on how a lack of space can affect rabbit behaviour (and health). If they are willing to actually have a proper look at something like that, then its quite clear that any rabbits that were in hutches displayed some sort of stereotypical behaviour, regardless of how much space they got during the day! I was quite surprised at that myself. Id be happy to send that to you, but not sure how useful it would be!

It is bad enough that people don;t think but to not care. Despicable.

Re: Smallest hutches :-(
They have re-named it a G pig hi hutch :-(.
I pointed out that it was also not suitable for GP's either - can know when I'm fighting a losing battle :-(
