Need advice Empty Need advice

Post by Joanne26 Tue Dec 02, 2008 11:03 pm

Liam has not been himself for a couple of days, he isn't sitting out in the run in the evening like usual and just seems generally 'quiet'.

He is eating normally and i've just been out and given them pellets which he gobbled up like normal. He is poo'ing and wee'ing but the poos are much smaller than usual and he has wee'ed just outside of his litter tray tonight which is really unusual, he seems to be drinking a lot too.

His tummy feels fine so i thought maybe it could be his teeth, but surely he wouldn't be eating normally??

Can they get depressed?

Any advice would be much appreciated guys Wave

hello - am not sure but hopefully someone in the know will be along soon. I do know though that some rabbits carry on eating despite teeth problems.

hmmmm, thats what i wanted to know really, wasn't sure if they would still be eating, not pellets and other hard stuff anyway scratch . Liam is eating EVERYTHING he normally would so thats why i was a bit confused.

I didn't want to stress him by taking him to the vets if he was just feeling down (its quite a journey for him)

Thanks for replying Smile

Just thought i would update, Liam is going in tomorrow for a dental, he also has an ulcer in his mouth too which explains him being so down Sad

Mishka is going along for the ride to keep her husbun company :luv:

Rebecca basically said that its his mouth causing the upset and all the other unusual things like wee'ing out of the tray and drinking lots are knock on effects, she also said that he has reduced gut mobility and gave him an injection to 'keep his guts moving and relieve any pain he may have', i can't remember what she called it though Embarassed

I probably would if you can - especially if its still so cold. Bunnies find it harder to keep themselves warm when poorly, and after a GA. Good luck for Liam's dental.
