Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
Hope it all goes well at the vet tomorrow. It's horrible when our fur babies are ill and we have to keep giving them yucky medicine. It's great that Dave is still lively and eating.
Thinking of you both.

Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
Well we have been to the vets. It is still no man's land. Dave is now on Metacam to try and bring the swelling down. He is still eating like a horse, binkying, flopping etc. She feels that if the swelling hasn't reduced in next 7 days then it could be a tumour. I am praying that that is not the case. Please guys, send some vibes.
Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
So good that he isn't in pain but it still doesn't help that he isn't getting any better. FInger crossed for your next visit to the vet that it isn't anything serious. xx

Bless him, we have had a lovely cuddle today and watched a bit of tele. He is such a gorgeous bun. I just feel that it is so unfair for a baby to have gone through this.

Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
When they operated what did they do, drain fluid or remove a solid mass....I'm suprised they havn't mentioned a biopsy if they think it may be a tumour.
Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
It was just thickened skin Sooz, there isn't anything to remove. They are going to do a biopsy if the swelling doesn't go down. But they want to leave that a few weeks anyway as in the last 3 weeks he had had 2 aneasthetics.
Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
So, during the op, what did they actually do....open the skin layers, poke about and suture them closed again....
I don't know if I am just not comprehending the situation correctly but nothing is making sense to me.

Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
Yeah they thought they were going to find an abscess but when they opened him it was just thick skin. They had to stitch him back up as there was nothing to remove.

Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
If it's just a swelling/thick skin could it be and allergy related thing? Can rabbits have piriton, I know dogs can, and cats can have a half, could a rabbit have a quarter?
Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
Well the swelling is going down under his chin, but increasing in the side of his face

Re: Dave Poorly - Vibes Urgently Required.
Well I took him back to the vets again today. He touched the scab. And puss started to ooze out. Thank goodness it isn't a tumour. There is no choice but to put him under again on Monday and get rid of it. He has had alot of anti biotics recently so hopefully we have caught it before it has gone too far. Please keep your fingers crossed for this truly amazing little baby. Hard to believe he has only been here 3 weeks.
