I Have Some Exciting News ... U/D We're Home!!
... I'm going to be a bunny mummy again!
We have been without bunnies since we lost Rosie last November, and I know some of you might have been wondering what our plans were. We've been missing Rosie so much and it just didn't feel right to get more buns straightaway. I'm not an impulsive person, and we have been thinking things through very carefully since then. We knew we would get more bunnies at some point, I just wasn't expecting that point to come so soon!
But we saw 2 bunnies looking for a home on another forum ( ) and I just felt a real emotional pull towards them. They are brothers and were abandoned with their mother and sister on Christmas Eve in a box on the doorstep of a small animal rescue in Edinburgh. Luckily a volunteer who was coming in to feed the animals found them and took them in. Their mum was still nursing them.
Anyway, HERE THEY ARE. (3rd pic down on page). They are called Paddy and Chestnut and are English Spot crosses. They are being fostered at the moment and will be neutered next week. They'll be with us in a couple of weeks once they have recovered from their de-plumming.
Hope you like them!

That's really exciting. There's nothing like being a Bunny Mummy is there?
Am looking forward to hearing about all your adventures together. Will they be indoor or outdoor buns?

Thank you. You're right, I have really missed having a little furry bun to snuggle, I can't wait until they come home.Rhianna wrote:That's really exciting. There's nothing like being a Bunny Mummy is there?

They will be indoor bunnies. Rosie was a housebunny and I find it's so much easier to build up a close relationship with them when they are in the house with you. The downside, of course, is the hay and mess everywhere! But we can live with that.

Re: I Have Some Exciting News ... U/D We're Home!!
That's the best news I was only watching Rosie on You Tube this morning, and I did think..'mmm, wonder how long it will be...?'
They're beautiful, and very very lucky, I so chuffed for you both, and for them
Any ideas for names?

Whoop! Helen is getting DUTCHIES! I hope and expect we are going to be plagued with pictures. It's fabulous news, can't wait for you to get them home.
Re: I Have Some Exciting News ... U/D We're Home!!
Thanks Jay, I know I've been rather quiet on the subject of more bunnies. I'd been planning to do a thread updating you all to the effect that "we will be getting more but not quite yet", but that thread is now redundant.Jay wrote:That's the best news I was only watching Rosie on You Tube this morning, and I did think..'mmm, wonder how long it will be...?'

We're planning to keep their names as Paddy and Chestnut; I think they quite suit those names.

I am so excited for you and for the new buns!!!!! I can't wait to get to know them through cyber space!
Also, I wanted to tell you a funny story that happened the other day. I was on HH (as always) and my bf saw a post by you and he points to your signature and goes "Wow that's a really cute bunny" and then he looks for a second and then he points to you avatar picture and goes "and so is that one!"

That is wonderful news. I am so so happy for you and your OH. You were such a loving bunny mum to Rosie and did absolutely everything for her, including knowing when to say Goodbye. These are two very lucky bunnies and I know they will have a fabulously loving home with you.

Re: I Have Some Exciting News ... U/D We're Home!!
Just to update - the bunnies were neutered on Wednesday by their fosterer's vet and are apparently doing really well. We are picking them up tomorrow (Sunday). Weeeee!! Am so excited!
We have decided to change Chestnut's name to Benji (have always wanted a bun called Benji), so it will be Paddy and Benji.
Will post pics of them once they are settled in.
