Re: Vibes for Felix U/D dental abscess
Good News!!! Its not an abscess Thank goodness.
He has a nasty tear duct though and the poor little guy has been poked and prodded about. He has a fair bit of scar tissue and an infection in his tear duct and had some work done on his teeth too. He's feeling a bit sensitive tonight and had a little trouble eating so he's needed a little critical care but all in all he is doing okay.
Go Felix!

So glad to hear it's not an abscess. Is it just an eye infection? Poor boy he must be feeling really out of it. Sending massive healing vibes. I hope you're OK nickie

Re: Vibes for Felix U/D dental abscess
Hi guys, thanks for all the vibes for ma boy.
Well today, his eye is looking a lot better. The swelling underneath his eye is gradually going down and it is a little less infected everyday. I clean it out three times a day and put on abx ointment. It is quite a job getting all the stickiness off his fur. I have a specialist eye cleaner to use which is helpful.
He is also getting 1ml of baytril twice a day which he is taking so well. He is a wee lamb and so good.
At first I fed him critical care which we both hated, then softened pellets to get him to keep eating. He has lost a couple of pounds but is eating OK. Everytime I have him in, I give him a handful of pellets so I know he has something in his tummy. At teatime today, he ate dry pellets for the first time so hopefully his teeth are feeling a bit better.
He had his front teeth burred, some edges taken off his back teeth on one side and had a tooth which was growing HORIZONTALLY along his jawline clipped (it is about 1.5 inches long) but amazingly was not affecting his other teeth or hurting him. I think his mouth was pretty sore probably from all the equipment to keep it open during the op.
Just have to take things slowly and hope he keeps getting better.
