worming
Just reading up on some stuff - the vet told me not to have my 3 routinely wormed, stating that some rabbits need to be, some rabbits dont - and that we should wait and see if it is an issue for mine? (I have had so many mixed veiws on things it is unreal)
When I got Rory, the breeder told me that he had been really ill, she thought he would die, then she 'wormed' him and he recovered. Apparently this was suggested to her by a friendm he wouldnt have seen a vet - so I have no way of knowing if he actualy needed that traetment or if something else was wrong.
What do you reckon?

Re: worming
Our vet advised us it was a bit pointless (esp. if they are indoor buns) unless it was a course for e cuniculi, as routinely worming them without 'reason' can interfere with their delicate guts etc, and wasn't a big fan of it.

Re: worming
I was told by my first vet to worm daisy every six months.....I was then told by Daisy's specialist not to do it, so I did.
I think there is some toing and froing in the vetinary world about it, but to me, Daisy's specialists opinion rules.

Re: worming
I agree with Katie. With our first bun, we had him wormed on advice from the vets who weren't especially rabbit savvy. Our new vet is and she us advised not to bother, so will follow that advice.

Re: worming
Thanks guys- its a mine feild for new bunny parents isnt it! If im confused when i spend hrs and hrs online trying to educate myself- to the point of rabbit induced obsession, no wonder others who get a bit of advice from a pet shop fail their bunnies without meaning to. Had a chat with felix about it as she wants to be my buddy today, she declined comment and went off to wash willow's ears- Rory is asleep in little hairy heap, so im going to go with ur advice

Re: worming
I only had to worm mine last year when I had an infestation of fleas so all the animals were flea treated and wormed on the safe side.
