Question about electronic pest deterrents

We have been invaded by ants again.  We cannot get to where they are to put down borax powder.  We don't even think we can get to them with spray.  I'm afraid of pesticides anyway because of my asthma and I don't want any residue that could harm a bunny when we get one.  The pesky ants have built a colony between the window and the storm window. They seem to be tending a colony of other insects which we cannot see well enough to identify.

There are two types of electronic pest control devices widely available, these are Ultrasonic and Electromagnetic.  Ultrasonic devices operate through emitting short wavelength, high frequency sound waves that are too high in pitch to be heard by the human ear.  Electromagnetic pest repelling devices send pulses thru the house wiring.  They claim to affect the nervous system of spiders, ants, mice, and other rodents. There are mixed feelings as to whether these work or not but the electronic pulse type drove my mom's ants away and they have never come back.

Now to the question.  Does anyone have any experience with these?  Would they affect bunnies?  I know rabbits are not rodents, but there are similarities.

edit: When I was researching rabbit hearing, the article said rabbits didn't hear before 2-3 weeks of age.    Could this be?

This is interesting - I have never heard of electronic deterrents for ants before. My mother always used to use boiling water poured over a nest. Not nice, but there has been a couple of occasions where ants and flying ants have invaded and it is not pretty.

I have no idea whether a rabbit would be affected by such devices. I suspect they maybe - I am sure you can buy such things to repel cats.

I don't know either about at what age baby rabbits start to hear - will have a look and see if I can find out.

No idea but would think they pick up on the ultra sounds. Will brush my teeth tonight in the warren and send a report!
