Re: Need to rehome...
She definately looks far to young to have been speyed as well. A vet would never have agreed to it.
Re: Need to rehome...
she is a cutie though. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea and stuff, hence why I said no but thought I'd ask on here too xx

Re: Need to rehome...
I'm very happy that you have done the best for these rabbits, not only in saving them from their original owner, but in realising your limit and giving them a better chance. The rescue you've given them to is really good, and I think you can sleep easy knowing that they will go to wonderful homes. Well done, it can't have been easy
I hope we can continue to help you and Isobelle and Jack

Re: Need to rehome...
It wasn't easy lol Ididn't sleep most of last night! But thanks.
I want to know why isobelle doesn't like playing...is it just her "go away" personality so we never see her do anything...or does she genuinly lack excitment....could it be a lack of stimulation? Or her breathing getting her down?...xx
Money. In short Snowy. xx

Re: Need to rehome...
Just think you have given these bunnies a second chance at life! You don't have to be the care giver to do that. You can often be the go between.
Re: Need to rehome...
Thanks
Hey, just a thought....I can't find anywhere that will tell me but... can rabbits have defrosted frozen veg? Does it loose any of it's goodness along the way? xx

Re: Need to rehome...
so like....how much in terms of like...a carrot half a pepper and a romaine leaf should they be getting. I've been giving them two carrots each day, then they get a leaf of romaine leuttice, half a pepper some broccoli stalk and some sugar snaps...is that too much not enough? xxx

Re: Need to rehome...
Yeah they really only need very limited amounts of veg as it can disrupt their digestive system and also cause them to have quite sloppy poo's. Mine get unlimited hay, a small amount of pellets each day and mainly greens leaves of an evening, 1 per bun. I may supplement this a few times a week with a carrot or an apple between a pair.

Re: Need to rehome...
I would try to feed more leafy green veg, such as kale, cabbage, greens and then give litereally one or two slices of carrot or apple.
bear in mind the more veg you give them, the more they will leave their hay. Mine dont have teeth problems as such but two of my girls are on the verge of needing dentals, one had one exactly a year ago.
I make a forage bowl now.
In that I put a handful of dried grass (bought in pet shops, similar to hay but richer so just a little)
A handful of the mixtures you get in pet shops like dried dandelion, ginko, nature mixes, like these

and then just a little bit of veg, maybe a handful of curly kale, or a spring green lead, not much at all. I also mix in their pellets with this, it encourages natural behaviour of foraging and also keeps their teeth good because they are eating a mixture of course forage and their veg, rather than gorging on veggies and then not eating hay and subsequently getting bad teeth
I limit carrot to one or two small chunks a week because it is so high in sugar.
