Re: Need to rehome...
I don't even know. and now I feel awful. They're in a half way home for the night and then they're moving to a rescue.... they're....in northamptonshire.
I want to help animals, so much. I was going to go undercover to animal testing labs, but my husband didn't like it.can't think why...
Rehomming animals is the only thing I can do to help,I protesst and go to demos eveyr weekend. x
Yes it was a proper rescue from what my husband told me, I was kinda upset. So was unable to talk properly.

Did he make the arrangements then?, I am sure they will be fine, from what you have said I think they needed more expert care than you could give them, I really think you should concentrate on Issi and Jack but please don't let them together otherwise you will have a massive problem of unwanted litters

OK, that's good, now please make sure you keep them seperate from now until 6 weeks AFTER he has been castrated because he will still be fertile and can still make her pregnant, will you be getting Isobelle done as well?

Re: Need to rehome...
I am so pleased to hear that. We promise we will do everything to help you learn to be more experienced with bunnies.
I am so sorry that I had to be so blunt with you. I know I hurt you and for that I truly apologise.
I would love to start this with a new beginning. So am looking forward to seeing some photos of your lovely buns - but not together just yet

Re: Need to rehome...
Tehehe!! No deffinaitely not together, even though baby buns would be adorable.
Okay, so WITHOUT being blunt with me
I read that often a trio is better than a pair, as if one passes away the other experiences extREEM grief.
My friend is having to rehome her adorable bun poppy. She's vaccined, spayed and there are no current health problems.
What do you gusy thinks... x

Re: Need to rehome...
I would sayy...I don't think you should because you don't know if jack and isabelle will get on yet and you could be getting ahead of yourself, but really...before considering taking anyone else on get your little babies sorted first . If you want to help maybe help your friend look for a new home for her bun?

Re: Need to rehome...
Trios are not better than a pair in any way. I have a trio and its no better than a twosome, if anything its worse because Pebbles gets left out alot, she would be happier if it was just her and Domino. Yeh there happy but theyre certainly no more happy because they are a trio.
Many buns do not experience extreme grief. When peanut died, jelly was a bit sad, she was lonely, but she was alright, if you had a pair and one of them passed away, you could go to a rescue and adopt a bun to be their friend, and then they would be okay again, having a trio doesnt really fix anything, and sometimes you have a trio and then one dies and then the balance is gone.
For example, if the worst happened and i lost Domino, i highly doubt my girls would be a good pair. so its not something to consider to prevent any problems.
Ill be honest, im a bit stunned youre even thinking of another bun, even if not seriously.
I think thats enough thinking about other buns for a while!

Re: Need to rehome...
Alot of bunnies don't experience extreme grief.
My bun Chewy had a very low moment when he looked for Kenzo everywhere his smell was, and didn't want to run around and play.
But he's alot better now, and I wouldn't put him with another rabbit, because he's the agressive type. He was with Kenzo since the beginning so it was fine, but I wouldn't risk it with another one.
I'm in contact with alot of animal rescues because I was a volontary in one for 2 years, so I see 50 offers a day of adorable, sweet, beautiful bunnies (and hamsters and cats and dogs and guinea pigs which are all animals I love and know how to care for) but I don't take them in because, hell, 4 pets + an aquarium is enough for me.
My technique is this: I have 1 bunny (even though its big enough for two)/guinea pig cage, so i can have 1 bunny or a pair of guinea pigs. Since I have a bunny in there, nothing else.
I have 3 hamster cages, so I can have 3 hamsters (or pairs of dwarf hamsters) right now I only have 2 hamsters, but I don't want a third one.
I have 1 aquarium, so I can have whatever fits in there. It's a 20gallons, so apart from a pair of goldfish (which i have now) or a leopard gecko, I can't have much. And I have enough stuff for one cat, so one cat it is!
I never buy any extra material or cages so that I'm not tempted.
It's so hard to resist taking them in when they steal your heart, but you end up getting used to it. Good job on refusing (twice)! lol!

Re: Need to rehome...
Please don't even consider taking on another rabbit. It has been well established that you do not know, yet, how to cater for the proper care of the two you have. This does not mean that you don't love animals, but that you haven't yet learned enough about rabbits to meet their needs. Learn from the two you have, enjoy them, they are wonderful animals that will bring you a lot of joy. Get it wrong and they will bring you a lot of stress.
Re: Need to rehome...
Hi Lexybee, are you taking in a nother rabbit now from your friend? why doesn't she want it?, sorry to keep asking you questions but we are trying to help and I am a little bit confused
