Gloria the Diva
As if life isn't difficult enough, this week I had the news that Gloria had stopped eating.
OH has been looking after buns while I am away and phoned to say that she wouldn't eat her pellets in the morning and then she disappeared down the burrow and didn't come out. Needless to say panic set in big time. OH decided that he would try to dig her out. This meant taking up the A-frame which was welded to the ground and promptly then broke on being lifted. He dug down about three feet, then stuck his camera down on a stick and discovered the burrow was at least a further four feet long so decided to leave it in case the whole thing collapsed.
Luckily, after a few hours, she emerged and although still not eating, was seen to nibble a bit of stick. OH phoned the vet who decided that it sounded like she was probably not serious as she was mobile, not hunched up and seemed to be eating a little. OH took the precaution of filling in their burrow to stop her disappearing again.
Next morning she was back to normal and didn't need the vet ...... then Wolfie and her dug up their old burrow as if nothing had happened.
Meanwhile, I ws distraught in Ireland and worrying on two dimensions! Bloody rabbits! Although I am so relieved that she is OK. When she next goes for a checkup, I am going to get her teeth looked at - just in case.
