Gloria not well today
This morning she wasn't interested in her pellets. Usually she tries to snatch the dish out of my hand and is a real pellet hoover. Chased her around a little bit and she was moving but just not interested in eating. I tried to interest her in a pellet from my hand but after her taking a chunk out of my finger on Saturday, gave up pretty quickly when she nipped as if to say, 'push off'. She did eat some sage leaves but then settled down. I had to go to work, so thought I would leave her and see what she was like later.
When youngest son came home from school, she wasn't interested in carrots or spring greens. Took her to the vet and she has a low temperature and the inside of her eyes is very pale. Vet gave her the usual three jabs, and I will keep her indoors tonight. She is looking a little bit happier and did eat a few pellets so will try her later. Have left her with spring greens, hay and a few pellets. Will try to get her drinking a bit too.
Vibes please peeps.

Re: Gloria not well today
Sending lot's of (((vibes))) for Gloria and hope she picks up soon. make sure she stays well hydrated if you can.
Re: Gloria not well today
Well I think the meds are working. I managed to get her to eat a couple of spring green leaves and got her to drink some water with a little apple juice and syringed in some water too. She is a little fiester so I hope she might be on the mend. She is in her carrier in the back porch. I'll bring her into the kitchen when we go to bed as it will be too warm just now. Her ears are lovely and warm. Fingers crossed.

Re: Gloria not well today
Kept her indoors in her pet carrier overnight. She was in the back porch where it was cool, but not cold, then I moved her into the kitchen when we went to bed. She ate some spring greens and drank last night and had a wee but no poops.
This morning she wouldn't eat again, so picked her up to syringe feed her and she peed all over me, which is a good sign that she isn't dehydrated. She took some recovery sludge but wouldn't eat anything solid. She got very fed up when I pushed a carrot in her face.
Decided to put her back out in her hutch where it is familiar and she has more room to move. Left some pellets, water, a carrot and hay. She was sat in her bed. At least I will be able to see if she has pooped during the day. Have an appointment for her at the vet for 6.30 if she still isn't eating for more metacolpomide. Hopefully, she will start to eat soon.

Re: Gloria not well today
Come on Gloria, please eat some food for us.
Nickie, could her teeth be causing problems? When Herbie had his last dental after stopping eating the offending teeth were right at the back and had not been seen by the vet looking inside his mouth using an otoscope. I am sure even the most experienced bunny vet will struggle to see all the teeth in a salivating tiny mouthed bunny

Re: Gloria not well today
I'll get him to check that out if I have to take her tonight. It might be that she will have to have a GA to have a really good examination.

Re: Gloria not well today
Came home from work and she was just sat in the hutch. Pellets and carrot untouched. So it was off to the vet again. Had a bit of a problem getting her out of the hutch and when I lifted her, she panicked and managed to scratch me down the side of my face with her rear foot. I look like something out of Enter the Dragon. That went down really well at taekwon-do tonight!
The vet gave her the usual three jabs again and she seems to be quite bright and perky. She just doesn't want to eat. I managed to get her to eat a spring green leaf purely because I bothered her so much that she ate it out of frustration. However, she wouldn't touch anything else.
I put her back outside with Wolfie as I thought it might be better for her than inside the house again. Came back from training just now and went out with some pellets, but she still isn't interested. So I might be back to the vet tomorrow at 6.00 pm.
The good thing is she doesn't seem ill. She was quite lively at the vets and when she was in the house and I was getting syringe stuff ready, she was looking around and doing all the bobbing and sniffing.
Vet didn't seem that concerned and thinks that she will pick up so here's hoping. He is a nice vet and was asking how Felix was getting on after the tooth was taken out. Nice to think that they remember their patients.
