Re: Rory stasis
Good luck for thistle lilygrace - the specialist could see that it was E.C just looking at the eye with his specialist thingy! Is thistle insured? It cost £132 for the consultation alone, and with the meds it was £168. Though they are happy to deal with the insurance company direct so luckily I didnt have to pay up front as I must have paid about £80 to my other vets this week already. If your vets arent certain then maybe a specialist or a blood test is the way forward. Thistle has discharge though doesnt he? Roars has none at all, though maybe that doesnt make a difference. Lots of luck to you guys and a swift recovery for thistle
I think the girls will still find him gorgeous if he only ends up with one eye - I should get him a satan eye patch with a play boy bunny on it

Re: Rory stasis
Yeah, the white flecks just on their own don't seem to bother him...they've been there for months and months. And my vet said "If it aint broke don't fix it"...so as long as it's not causing him any problems we'll leave it . He's not insured no, before I thought of doing it he had so many things wrong with him...but I may do soon cause I think he is always going to get ill etc. he's a problem bun! Even if it only covers him for a few things. Mixed breeds are obviously made of sturdier stuff because apart from after Lunas spay when the wound came open, she's been fine *touch wood*.
for you all too as well! One eye will be his endearing quality, it makes him quirky. He can tell tales of how he lost it in a fight with a shark when he was deep sea diving for the lost treasure of the Titanic

Rory - communications with breeder
I emailed the breeder to ask for more info on what was actually wrong with him when he was younger, and also asking if he ever saw a vet etc (i knew he hadnt, I just wanted to see if she would try and justify herself) This is the reply I got:
Hi Beki
Sorry ti hear about my lovely little boy, All i can tell you, there were 3 in the litter when he was about 4 weeks old the other two seem to be over taking him i size in the course of the weeks to follow i notice he was not eating as much as he should have been eating so he was coxi treated that didn't work then i set to start feeding him every couple of hours with critical care, he started to eat a little on his own but looked very sick you contacted a Friend that was a breeder and she sent me a worm er in a syringe to give to him, After that day he was making more and more progress and was filling out, all the time he was sick he was in my bed room with me 24/7 and always had just enough strength to nibble me every time i picked him up bless him.when he was over the worse i put him back out side with another rabbit as mum would not tolerate him, but the other turned out to be a doe so had to part them, when he was all better i thought about finding him a loving home ! more than i could give him as i had all the rest of the rabbits, I never ever notice some thing wrong with his eyes all the time i had him, but there was one day my grand kids had him out and when they put him back they put him in with his mother i didn't realise till the next day, and she had ruffed him up and his poor little eyes very closed and weepy, i bath them and put some drops in them and he was fine again the next morning, I do hope he goes on ok do miss the little fella
Let me know how he goes on please and hope i have been some help !
Tanya

Re: Rory stasis
He is doing well! He is eating well and very active -he doesnt like me giving him the panacur but he is fine with the eye drops. I just got home from work, early finish as yasmin broke up early today- im going to let him out in his run and get some fresh air and scrub his cage etc. I havent groomed him all wk either as he didnt seem up to letting me get underneath him so i might push my luck with him and have a go. He doesnt want cuddles at the mo as eveytime i touch him i do something horrid in his veiw! Yasmins going to give him a cuddle in a mo - we are playing good cop bad cop at the mo!

Re: Rory stasis
What a relief that he is doing well. It is awful when they think you are a big meanie everytime you go near them. I hate it. He will soon forgetnthough and only know you as his wonderful , kind mummyagain. It ks times like this when you wish they could speak so you could explain.
Re: Rory stasis
