I've only just caught up with this. Poor Taffy I'm so glad he has made progress in the right direction. He's in the best possible hands with his wonderful hi-parents x

Re: Taffy has EC - U/D 29/03 - he's gone
He's doing ok
He's eating a little better and moving a tiny bit more easily. He has done one yucky poo-splat today and quite a few more that are slightly better formed - nowhere near golden and crumbly though. Humum managed to get some green oat hay and he deigned to eat a few strands as long as they were handed to him. (He can eat from a bowl ok, his veggie bowl is licked clean twice a day.)
Humum still thinks he is not drinking enough. She got him a water bottle which he has ignored but it's there if he wants it.
The main issue is his incontinence - just trying to keep him reasonably clean and comfortable without stressing him out too much. He had a bottom bath at the vets yesterday, a spot-clean with baby wipes tonight and will get another botty bath tomorrow.
Here's some video of him nomming his pineapple juice (again, he won't drink that from the bowl) and having a hop round the office. Humum says excuse the messy carpet, hoovering is not a priority at the mo...

Wow Taffy looks so much better
Sadly there is not a lot that you can do about the incontinence apart from what you are already doing

Re: Taffy has EC - U/D 29/03 - he's gone
He ate some hay! He ate some hay! He ate some hay!
This is the first day Humum has had to leave him all day (she took half-days from work on Monday and Tuesday) - yesterday she just watched him in the afternoon and he was eating just about enough, although she was worried he still wasn't drinking enough. So this morning she loaded him up with a couple of syringes of watered down pineapple juice, went to work and fretted for 8 1/2 hours.
When she got home, he had eaten most of his veg, almost all his hay, a few pellets, lots of dried bits and drunk half a bowl of water
He's had his botty bath and his meds, snuggled in a blankie with Humum for half an hour to dry off and now he is back in his clean pen. He has a heat pad in case he needs it, but at the moment he is far more interested in having a taste of all his fresh food
He's definitely moving easier. His poos are better - squidgy but formed instead of very sticky, so they're not sticking to him nearly as much (although he's still a bit urine soggy).
And he is such a model patient and an easy bun to look after. He did have a good wriggle when his bum got wet, but he does take all the handling and syringing and being messed about with no fuss whatsoever. When he was snuggled with Humum after his bath, he fell properly asleep (the eyes closed type) and when he had fusses he did the tooth purring thing
Humum says this is all stressful enough without having to battle a bun and feel guilty for doing so. Taffy is such a sweetie
We're pretty sure the Magic Hopper Vibes are having a huge positive effect. Thank you all so much

Re: Taffy has EC - U/D 29/03 - he's gone
He's not quite so bright tonight. He's not eaten or drunk as much during the day - he's had several syringes of recovery food since Humum has been home and several of his watered-down juice. Since his last feed he's been picking at some bits in his pen.
Humum thinks his snuffles is starting to flare up he has sneezed a few times and seems a tiny bit crusty round one nostril.
He's seeing the vet tomorrow evening...
Humum is also coming down with something and Hudad is away for a few days, but she says if she can just get through tomorrow at work and the vets she can take to her duvet most of the weekend apart from feeding and cleaning us lot out.
