Okay so just spent the last hour sitting at the vets with him - I figured out 106F is 41.1C so he went from 40.8 to 41.1 and then when I got back to the vets his temp went down to 38.8C (102F) They had been keeping him in the x-ray room where it's cold instead of the warm kennel.

I looked at his paperwork and they had x-rayed him which came back clear, given him baytril and they were just taking him for fluids when I got kicked out. I rang my boss and she said I don't need to be in til 9 so I can visit him for a few mins in the morning before work.

I need my boy to be okay Crying or Very sad

What a good idea taking Benji some of his fave food in.

Sending him loads and loads of healing vibes - and some for you too. It's so difficult trying to work when your heart is at the vet with a fur child.

Will check back later for news.

His temp is normal now - but he was so much floppier when I saw him the morning, he won't eat anything, I just rang the vet and they said they can't get him to eat the recovery, or force feed him Sad Sad Vet seems to think he's brighter but i have to see it to believe him - I know my boy, and he's not right at all Sad Sad i can't deal with this - I want my vet mike to talk to but he's not around and I don't know what to do without him Sad Sad I can't cope with not seeing him til Monday and not knowing anything (I have to work tomorrow and they are only open a few hours in the middle of the day) I really really really need him to be okay. I'm going down in about half an hour, fudge has got a post op check, may end up staying a few hours.

6pm - Back from the vets, Benji actually greeted me today, but he can hardly move, his balance is just rubbish, he also wanted to be with fudge and izzy - it broke my heart to walk away when i know how much he wants us around, and wants to be home, but he's not eating or drinking, they arn't having much luck with force feeding - he's being given loads of fluids (thats why i got turfed out earlier) - I honestly don't know if he's feeling any better or not as he was in a different room when he came to me, and because he had wizbit and fudgums around - he may have reacted the same who knows No

If he eats and drinks tonight then they will let me take him home tomorrow, but if he's still the same then he will go over to stafford, where I can visit him sunday morning Sad vibes for my boy

Post by LilleJente Sat Feb 20, 2010 10:19 pm

today was hard, I had to work 8:30 til 3, vets were only open 9 - 10:30 I had organised with vicky to pick him up if he could come home. but when I rang the vet this morning he wasn't sure what was best. They said all they could get him to eat is the lactate which is a fluid vitamin mix thing, he won't eat anything himself. They said he was moving around a bit more, and asked me to come down with different foods and see if he's take anything from me, and to decide if I thought he'd do better at home - but of course being at work I couldn't. I almost burst into tears when he said it because I was stuck Sad I half wonder if he has now traveled up to Stafford and added extra stress to him for no reason Sad when he could be home - but without seeing him I couldn't justify taking him out *just incase* so it's been an awful day Sad I just need the hours to go by a bit faster so I can see him in the morning!!

It takes about 20/25min on a clear day/time like sunday - can take up to or over an hour in rush hour. I will go to stafford for appointments if needed when neither mike or richard are at bloxwich, but I always book in for their 2-3 opening slot.

Well - they were very nice to me - they close at 12 and I stayed til 1:30 before being asked to leave Embarassed Laughing

He's moving around more, eating hay, came over when I shook the treat jar, but then wouldn't eat anything Sad he took a few bites out a biscuit, but then gave up. But he is nibbling hay, and he had 2 small sips of water - his poo is wetter now, but sticky too Hmmm - it's time's like this I wish I was a vet - just so that I can know!!

He's still wobbly when he hops, and still breathing heavily -while he was sleeping he coughed two or three times Hmmm

He flopped out like this for 40min while I fussed him Love

Benji & Izzy - Mini update. DSC00140

Then the pussy cat below woke him him - just before I had to leave, I felt awful leaving him again!! Sad I just want him back. Nothing here is right without him. Loosing Ivy was bad enough, but at least Benji was still around, now he's missing - It's just awful Sad - I feel rubbish today, I honestly thought I might of been bringing him home today Sad

Some other residents - Pudding a stray cat with an amputated leg (i wanted to bring him home, but he has a home waiting)

and *abe* who is also a stray - I want to bring him home too!! (am working on my brother Laughing )
