Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
That's good news.
Is Benji insured which is why you don't have to pay or do you have incredibly generous vets who don't charge!
I hope Benji continues to improve xxx

Both
Benji is insured with the vets - which includes EVERYTHING like vaccines and routine, seeing the emergency out of hours vet, to ops, the only exclusion is his cyst as it was there before the plan started, but any treatment on that has 25% knocked off, though they drain it regularly for free. I have saved soooo blinkin much this year!! It's mad. I'm woried they won't let me put any more on - Oh I have to pay Lab fees if tests are sent off as that is a different company, and I have to pay a call out fee for house calls, but otherwise £6 a month - bargin!!!
But then as I am there like all the time (everyday for the past week ) they are really lovely to me, and hardly ever charge me for anything for a bun that isn't on the plan - just meds and things, no consult fees Mike also just gives me stuff, like pots of hibbi scrub, and potassium permanganate, and other simple things - taught me how to take temperatures, what to look at with teeth, lets me take injections (i've noted a lot of reluctance with other vets to give me jabs, until they read the history of my buns having jabs instead of oral) They are really good to me - in return I bake for them

Yes plans always make me feel better - I don't feel so helpless! I also am not so worried today - Benji is no better, but no worse, he's stayed the same, which for me is a half full glass thing, and also he's home - so I can see him all the time!!
Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
I am glad you feel more positive
What a brilliant arrangement with your vets - I do envy you.
Fingers crossed Benji responds to all his meds xx

Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
Well I shouted at mike today (in a nice way) He was going to drop the baytril - I told him Nooo he had to follow the plan!!!!!!!! - Plan seems to be working - he's so much brighter - won't eat anything but fresh veggies - he's not 100% himself, but we seem to be on track - he's got the same 3 jabs until monday - when we're back again to the vets, and lucky for me Richard (the plan initiator) is on call this weekend - ohh the stress relief is HUGE!!! I just hope this sorts him out!!
Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
So glad to hear that the plan seems to be working. If he is eating fresh veggies at least he is getting something inside him to keep his little body moving bless him.
Fingers crossed the little love will continue to improvem, ill be thinking of you both x x x

Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
Well I was happily going to update you, to day that Benji has been doing much better, and is scoffing his veggies - However I've been soooo focused on Benji I now discover Izzy is not acting right - I wondered if she was sleepy from he sunshine, so I shook the treat jar, and she slowly hopped over and had a treat, holding 1 paw up so I worry she's hurt her paw, but I don't think so, I took her temp - it's 40.5 Have started a thread for her now

Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
I'm struggling so hard today, my poor Benji has lost one whole kg, he's so weak, and wobbly, I hope the test results give me an answer, I need my boy to get better. He's so much brighter and doing better with his eating, but I just can't believe how weak he is now - He didn't move for a whole 12 hours on sunday. He can't get up the floors anymore, so he stays on one level - I'm gutted for my boy it's so heartbreaking to see him so weak
Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.

Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
Benji seems to be getting worse with his mobility - i can home from work and watched him struggle for ages to sit up - I got down to help him and he was laying in his wee - He just wasn't able to get up out of it or even close to a litter tray - he can move, just not very well. I rang mike and he suggested to put him back on the pain killer and see if that helps. my poor boy. I love him so much, seeing him so weak is heart breaking.
Here's a video of Fudge stealing all the baby food for Benji!!! (sorry it's upside down )

I'm so sorry the news of Benji isn't better. A whole kg is an awful lot to lose.

Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
I had expected them back today - maybe mike is a bit busy, but I'll ask him in the morning. We've just got back from the vets - it was the vet i don't like to see, but he gave him a pain killer - and was testing his reflexes, and found a really tender spot on his back which he said means he could of sprained himself but I don't get how - guess we'll see what mike says tomorrow I'm gutted for him.
Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
Catswhiskas wrote:What exactly is wrong with him then?
Honestly Charl I have no idea - They suspect EC, but have sent poo samples to lab for confirmation - am waiting on results, but they have started them all on a course of Baytril coz they are sure that's what it is, He keeps having bouts of satsis, but I think that is being cause either by the EC ir the pain he's in. He doesn't eat much, and he's weak, and now this supposed sprain in his back?!! I don't know - will see what mike says tomorrow, and what the results say. If there is still no answers I may have to visit another vet to get Bloods done!!
Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
I'm so sorry things have been so hard for you and buns recently. I don't have any advice I'm afraid. Just vibes in abundance!

Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
I can't believe the difference the pain killer made to him last night - for the first time in almost 2 weeks, he followed me over the the food box at dinner time, he's suddenly climbing to the top level again and able to get up without any problems!! My poor baby must of been in so much pain - I bet that's what is causing the stasis - All night I've been pondering over him, and wondering if he is sufferng similar to Bertie...... Really want to chat to Jay now so I can put it to my vet.....
Re: Benji & Izzy - Mini update.
Oh poor benji,
Good luck for today hun. If the pain meds have made a difference I would insist on getting some more until they find out what this is. Perhaps they can geive him an xray?
Sending oodles and oodles of vibes for the poor munckin. x x
