How did it go Katie?

We are back and mr c is pleased with him. Unfortunately there are no treatments that are suitable for him other than fighting infection and trying to stop the growth into the door by getting him eating as much grass and hay as possible.

I'm sad that there is no rescue treatment to save him but for now I'm just so glad he is home with us and I'm going to make him as happy as I possibly can x

I'm sorry there is no better news Katie I really am but all you can do is your best and make him as happy and as comfortable as you can. I use to plant grass seeds in pots for one of our buns who had a similar problem, he was a house rabbit and I was able to give him some grass in Winter when it was unfit for him to go out or the garden was to wet.

Like you, Katie, I am just pleased that he did come home with you. It's a shame that there is no cure but any such thing would no doubt be a pretty major operation and recovery to put the little guy through and would cause its own agonies.

Maysie had a link for those low pans she uses for some of her bunnies. they are large and flat. A thin layer of coarse sand topped with some good quality sterilized soil, sprinkle the Timothy hay seeds, sprinkle a little more dirt, pat down and water gently. Orchardgrass matures 2-3 weeks earlier. 1 oz of Timothy hay seed will seed 250 ft.

Oh Katie, I'm sorry to hear about Charlie and sorry I missed this until now. As others have said, thank goodness you have him and noticed there was a problem. You will be able to do your very best for him and make his days happy ones.

I am sorry the news about treatment was not as maybe you wanted to hear.

The most important thing though is that Charlie is with you and is going to get the best possible care. He is very much loved and is living a wonderful and happy life with Annabel. So many bunnies are not lucky enough to experience that.

We have rushed him up to mr c's this morning as he is eating nothing and wouldn't even swallow syringe feed.

I have to call this afternoon but he is going to be overnight at least.
