Re: Eye problem.
She's not booked in till Tuesday Katie I wanted her to go this week but the eye specialist wasn't in.
They remind me of puppies too, silly bunnies! I have a video of Kobi jumping on top of the sofa but I'll post it in another post
Cookie is doing well, she seems a bit quieter during the day than usual and sits in the cage when the door is open but she is still being lively at night and letting us give her attention more and more I just don't want worse news on Tuesday, so I'm trying to stay positive and hope there is something that can be done.
Thank you for all your concern, it's really helping me out xxx

Re: Eye problem.
Lol this is why I can't use newspaper for her litter tray! I did once and by the morning the cage looked like a bomb had hit it!
I just had a call from the referrals and they have now cancelled the appointment for tomorrow and re-scheduled it for next Tuesday. Apparently for the procedures they have to offer they want a rabbit savvy vet there as well as the eye specialist.. which of course I understand, (although you'd think they should know about rabbits if I've been reffered to them) but it just seems that I'm waiting and waiting and what if it's something wrong that might be too late to fix
I just want her to be better

Re: Eye problem.
Sorry to hear you are being messed around, it must be so frustrating for you.
I think that the specialist wouldn't have pushed the appointment back if he/she thought cookies condition was likely to worsen during that time.
Wishing for a really really quick week for you

Re: Eye problem.
Oh I'm so sorry that you have had to wait till next Tuesday, it's a shame you can't get down to see Frances Harcourt- Brown in Harrogate as she is a European and RCVS recognised Specialist in Rabbit medicine and surgery.

Re: Eye problem.
I've just got home with her, she's a little trooper bless her. We couldn't take Kobi as they could only admit cookie but he's looking after her behind the sofa now.
Today they did a CT scan and some other tests with long names! The vet said when she was doing the initial consultation that as she's in no pain that it is unlikely to be an abcess and as she's young they didn't think it could be cancerous. So she talked us through the options and we left her in their capable hands and investigated the area. My mum and I actually found a farm
Close by that had lots of bunnies and baby buns (not for sale), but that's another post!
I got a call at 4 to say she has recovered and had only been sedated, they couldn't find anything prominent that would be detrimental to her health and that she could be collected.
The vet talked us through what they had done and again said they don't think it is a mass or cancerous, and that it could even be a developmental issue or something to do with the bone. She said she is going to send the scans to an old collegue of hers who deals with lots of rabbits. She also said they couldn't replicate the ultrasound scans that she had previously.
Another option is that it could be a compressed blood vessel which is causing pressure behind the eye.
I feel a lot better about it all and that it couldn't just be the way she's grown b
The reason we had to wait was because they wanted to make sure everyone who needed to be there was there on the day she went in!
So no one is entirely sure what it is but at least we know what it isn't and that they don't seem to think it is something to be too worried about.
Sorry if that was a bit rambly!
She's getting lots of licks from Kobi now, he's looking after her
Thank you do much for all of your concern, it's so nice to have the support from fellow bunny mummies and daddies!
Xxxxx

Re: Eye problem.
Yes she looks lots more settled and glad to be home, they are doing their slipper impression as I write, and she even has both eyes closed...
I should be getting another call next week to hear the other vet from the Phillipeanes' diagnosis!!
